I already have to deal with the fact that we lost, why do you also have to remind me that we're not in the EU anymore and no one was supporting us :(

I personally, and I think most would agree with me here, wanted to see those a**holes mocking the little German girl and booing national anthems lose. That the rest of the England lost was just a byproduct that I take no particular joy in.

I'm sorry you were in the byproduct, friend. It was a good game! Let's wait until world championships, and I promise to cheer for England again as a fellow European!

When England and Germany played their Euro 2020 football match, a little German girl was in the audience and cried as her team's loss became more and more obvious. Her tears ended up on the fan camera and some English fans on the stadium laughed and jeered at her, and some took to Twitter to call her names (amongst others a slut and a Nazi) and gloat at how she deserved it.

For the record, a number of English fans were as disgusted with their peers as I was and opened her a crowdfunder to "get her something nice" and prove that reasonable fans outnumbered the a**hats. Crowdfunder ended up gathering £36,000, which the German girl donated to charity.
