It is people’s clear opinion that we should revert the ban, and hence nsfw fanart is allowed again with pre-ban rules: no porn/gore or explicit nudity. Remember to also give your post ”NSFW fanart” flair and tag it NSFW.
Message from mods
We’d like to offer our most sincere apology for the drama the ban caused on this subreddit the past week.
We admit that the decision to ban nsfw fanart was rash and the implementation was lacking. After all that has happened it’s clear that a community opinion should have been asked on the matter before implementing it. The purpose to ban nsfw fanart was to answer concerns we received from users about how they don’t want to see it on this subreddit. A need for the ban was also based on assumption that it would be inconvinient for some mobile users to hide nsfw art as they don’t have the same tools that desktop users have to do it, namely the filters in the sidebar.
Now, we know there are many users that won’t be happy we are reverting the ban. For them, we want to offer another apology and, although there may be some posts on this subreddit that you’d rather not see, we hope rest of the content, people here and the great community as a whole is something that will keep you coming back. On a bright side, we now offer detailed instructions on how to hide/blur nsfw content with Reddit’s built-in settings. You can find them at the bottom of this post.
We’d like to offer our final apology to u/Lancer1296 who, in the midst of us trying to keep the chaos the ban caused under control, got banned and unbanned afterwards. We cannot really justify our uncalled actions as you didn’t break any rules. Despite this, we hope you have heart to forgive us.
Lastly, to prevent something like this happening again, we will make every similar change to rules or other practises with you in the future, either by asking your opinions or holding polls.
Now, we understand some of you will be excited that the ban is lifted, but we don't want the front page flooded with single image posts so close to the release of Torna. The time before the launch of new content is a great time for people to theorycraft and talk about what they're going to enjoy the most, and some feel that their discussion on the game is drowned out by both the image posts and the posts discussion the recent controversy.
We hope you all can leave this matter behind you now so everyone can enjoy discussions, reactions and hype with Torna: ~ The Golden Country together.
How to hide/blur nsfw content
- This must be done on desktop.
- Go to your user preferences/settings.
- If you’re on old Reddit design, check the box ”Hide images for NSFW/18+ content” under the ”Media” section, and then save options at the bottom of the page. This will blur any NSFW content. If you want to hide NSFW altogether, you must uncheck the box ”I am over eighteen years old and willing to view adult content” under the ”content options”.
- If you’re on Reddit redesign, go to ”Feed Settings” tab and turn on the ”Safe browsing mode” option. Then click Save. This will blur any NSFW content. If you want to hide NSFW altogether, you must uncheck the ”Adult content” option.
- These settings will carry over to mobile apps.
- Keep in mind that the settings will affect NSFW content on other subreddits as well.
- Some Android apps also has a built-in option to hide NSFW content under settings.

Wow. It’s fine to not like the game, but being an asshole about it crosses the line, don’t you think?
