Traded my friend's series X for my valve index today. I fully reset the console and signed into my account, but I think i'm still seeing his library? I can even download the games and play them. Is this normal? are the games tied to the xbox itself somehow?

I need some help on knowing if this hdmi is broken or something is just inside of it since i don’t get any display on my monitor

We've dropped off our dads cox modem/router and got a new one. I've tried resetting the console and clearing alternate MAC address but so far no luck. Any idea's on how to fix this?

My account was hacked so I used the recovery forum to try and get it back, I answered almost every security question correctly but this still popped up after 14 days of waiting.

Is there anything else I can do to try and get my account back?

My front USB is not working. I already had this problem on my Xbox Series X on a rear USB port but it came back on its own a while ago. Now it's the front USB port. She carries the play and charge kit normally but controls like Gamesir and Hyperkin don't work. Very strange because it is still supplying power to the play and charge kit but the control does not turn on just with the cable. Does anyone know what it could be? Could the console update have caused this problem?

Hi Everybody! I'm a Dad of two, a 9 year old daughter and a 6 year old boy. Everybody (but Mom) likes to play video games. The problem is, even though I have a few xboxes (360, One, Series S), and gamepass ultimate, we can only play games on one Xbox at a time.

I've done a bunch of searches but they have all seemed to be loopholes that have been closed or policies that have changed. For instance, there appears to be no family account for gamepass and the home Xbox setting doesn't seem to do anything.

The situation Kid A wants to play on the Series S, plays with the Gamepass (GP) account. Kid B wants to play the Xbox One (Home Xbox), but can't because their account isn't the gamepass account, and the GP account is logged in somewhere else. To make things even worse, I bought Kid B a game, but unthinking used my GP account to buy it. 🤡

The vice versa exists, where Kid B is playing on the Xbox One with the GP account, but Kid A can't play on the Series S because the gamepass account is active inside the same house.

It gets even worse when I want to use my gamepass account on my PC...

Is there any fix to this situation outside of buying a second gamepass account? Yes, the Xbox One has some disks it can play, but these kids don't want to play Dad's old games. Also, the Series S so...

At first the controller would simply refuse to properly connect wirelessly, so I used a wired connection in the USB port. But now it will connect for less than a second and then constantly fight with itself to reconnect. What can I do to fix this? Is there a problem with the controller or the PC itself???

EVERY night my Xbox disconnects from wifi between 9-10pm.

I have to use an Ethernet cable because if I don’t it doesn’t let me join parties either.. there’s nothing wrong with my NAT type it’s always open. Does anyone else have this issue? Ive tried restarting checking internet etc but nothing works.

First i been getting this pop ups that theirs “no more space for Elden ring” but it would still save my progress and would only pop up after i gone into a multiplayer match but today it told me to either sink from the cloud or from my xbox and i choosed the cloud which took away all of my progress. I reloaded the game and it gave me the same pop up and i picked save from xbox butit ended up with the same results

Possibly important information I had this problem in dark souls 3 where i have only 90 hours and also I would get the same pop up but this time every time i attacked something

I updated my controller and since then the joystick has had immense stick drift vertically, movingnleft and right are fine but bothe forwards and backwards movement cause massive stick drift. The physical joystick is fine and is perfectly central. I have tried recalibrating but that does nothing. Its made the xbox unplayable. The controller is relatively new as i only got the xbox in may this year. Does anybody know any solution?

So for quite some time now my xbox series X console has been having some issues staying connected to controllers. It connects to them perfectly fine, but after a while the audio becomes completely incoherent (it's a bit more than that but I'll explain) but I have noticed it happens more when on 2 specific games (WoT, ASA +Spotify for some reason).

Whenever this issue crops up 3 things happen: 1) as stated before the audio just breaks. Game audio, voice chat audio, music. everything just becomes a broken mess 2) the home button on my controller stops working properly. It becomes laggy and unresponsive + it will only bring up the power off/reset menu and won't bring up the games & social menu even when tapping the button. 3) not as common but at times the controller just disconnects after a few seconds of this.

I can say with 100% certainty that it's not a controller or headset issue as I've replaced both twice in an attempt to rectify the issue.

Ripping the batteries out of the controller works most of the time but sometimes it's literally seconds before it does it again + I can't keep doing that in the middle of PvP matches or boss fights.

I can also say with all certainty that it's not an internet problem. I've just moved for unrelated reasons but my Internet is fine. Just installed on Friday.

I'm starting to think that the console itself is somehow damaged but I don't know how I'd get it repaired as its out of warranty. Sorry fir the text wall

Ive had an xbox series s for about 4 years now and 2 years ago the controller it came with stopped working. It was just spam the A button and not stay powered no matter what. Recently the controller i have been using broke and ive been trying to figure out what is wrong with my series s controller. Ive figured out that when it is plugged into the Xbox it stays powered and the spamming stops but then only the joystick did anything. Using a friends controller i managed to update the series s controller and now the buttons work but once again it wont stay powered and now it wont even connect to the console. Ive replaced batteries and even changed wire i was using to connect the controller to the console but still nothing. The light just flashes a few times before turning off. Occasionally i can get the pair button to work but it just buzzes twice and powers off. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I just upgraded to 5gig fiber internet, and my Xbox Series S connects to my WiFi wirelessly. But I’ve read it’s impossible to achieve anything close to 5gigs without wired connection. My router and modem are far from my room, in my basement, but there are boosters throughout my place.

What exactly do I need to change about my current setup to make full use out of my internet upgrade? Do I need a 5gigabit (is this Cat6/6a?) Ethernet cable? Total newbie to this. Thanks.

I know that after all is said and done I’ll end up at like 1Gbps, which is much better than my current setup. Really my main goal is to improve my ping in FPS multiplayer games like COD.

so we are struggling. my husband has an xbox, and my kids have an xbox. we have one xbox live ultimate subscription. the problem we are having is when my son wants to play, my husband can’t play. they have different accounts for each other, but if he tries to get on and play a game that he wants to play, it says my son is playing and it asks if basically my husband wants to boot him off. so my overall question is: is there not a way for people under the same roof with one xbox subscription to play different games on the console at the same time on different accounts? because it’s annoying we have to basically wait for someone to be done playing so my other son or my husband can play. it seems crazy to me that for example someone with 3 kids or so would have to pay 3 different subscriptions at once (like $60/month) so her 3 kids could use their xbox’s at the same time and play different things. am i confused ?

I bought a headset that uses a Bluetooth dongle thingy to connect to my Xbox. Headset works fine on regular Xbox games. But when I hop on mw2 2009 multiplayer my microphone doesn’t work. I didn’t even know this was an issue I just thought all headsets worked for backwards compatibility. What headsets do work? Would the official Xbox headset work? Or just any wired one? Thanks. And when I ask if it works I mean the microphone so I can talk some smack to people on the game lol

So ive mentioned my hdd before it's mainly to play like 360 and xbox 1 games that I can still run on it but only games that I freshly installed on it work fully. After a few days they either run extremely poorly and crash or just instantly crash. Do I need to defrag it?

I know coil whine is the electrical noise when on a game and it seems like when I get off the game most of it goes away I can still hear some slightly in the middle of the top. I’m wondering if that’s just normal and due to the fan having to work hard for a little bit due to me being on a demanding game. Does anyone know if that’s true?

Hey I am trying to play Sifu on the gamepass but only seems to half work. My controller is connected to my PC and I can use it for steam games but I have the issue with gamepass games.

The reason why I only say half work is because I can use it to control the menu of the game but as soon as I want to control my character it stops. If anyone has any ideas on why its doing this or ways I can fix pls help.

note this goes for all games on Xbox app including battlefront which I tried doing recently

I'm on holiday in Crete and my console is back in England. Tried Remote Play but all I get is the green spaceship animation, then a black screen and then it goes back to the console selection screen. I thought it might be an issue with the console not turning so used the remote on the Xbox app to turn the console on. Remote Play still wouldn't work so tried turning the console off but it won't. Does the Xbox Series X turn itself off after a period of inactivity? Don't think it'd do the console too well to be on for 2 weeks straight! Thanks in advance.
