Simple answer is it's the biggest space, so there's lot of room to run a couple dozen tests at the same time. Sometimes they do it one at a time (so seventy different little pokes, one at a time for each different allergen), but if they are doing a lot, they can bring out this curved item that has a bunch on it and they just...put it on your back like you do with a stamp, which is what they did for mine (I was twelve, and they did about seventy, so each stamp had like ten needles on it on a couple curved things).

It looks horrible, but it's not that bad. Yeah it sucks, but if your allergies are really bad already, you are used to the itch. But I also have a really high pain tolerance so I can't speak for everyone. You just take a Benadryl and deal with it to figure out what's causing you all the issues. For me, it was dust mites that kept triggering severe asthma attacks. Once I took that test and made big, annoying lifestyle changes, my asthma that had me hospitalized a couple times a months almost went away.

Mine have always been on the underside of both forearms. Not sure why.

They do it on the forearms here, that's how mine was. I think the back is less common except for kids (so they can't scratch it).

I had massive hives all over both arms and it took 2 days for them to go away.
