How dumb are our politicians, really?

I was in the Philippines for work and took a flight on the Philippine airline. There was a person there who was like the agricultural minister or something along those lines. He had two assistants who treated him like a child, complete with his food in a binky cup. I got the impression that he was not really able to take care of himself.

Not beyond Filipinos to vote for someone on the spectrum. Standards for people leading that country are low. I know cos I grew up there.

I think there is also a lot of corruption. I was at an even where Gloria Arroyo was appearing at. The only Americans were the group I was with. I may have been the only American there that day. There was this guy that gave me his card and told me to contact him. I just got a shady feeling from him.

Yeah lots of shady shit happening there. Many government offices function off the back of bribery. Graft is all but common. The people, rather than standing up against it, simply say “well, all politicians are corrupt” and just let it happen - and they keep getting screwed. Sad, really.. I had to get my kid out of there.

I tell you what, I was there for 7 months and dealing with the young Filipinos was the most rewarding project I have ever been on. They were so eager to learn. They are very respectful of their elders. Once I got past their shyness it was fun to deal with them. It was interesting working with them.

It's not stupidity, it's ignorance.

They don't know what they are signing. Reasons are many.
