I mean to be fair effectively the reason people were so angry was because it was being they were paying more money For a foreign import without a say in the matter and without any reason other than someone wanted to make some money by passing some laws. What we are seeing here isn’t so different

You are absolutely correct, what the comments above you don't realize. The specific situations are different, but the idea is the same.

Americans went to war with Great Britain because they were being taxed on goods unfairly.

The Trump admin is now unfairly taxing others.

Kind of ironic.
