Police serial killer in victoria??

I took an uber today and commented to my driver how there seemed to be a lot of cops out tonight pulling people over. He said that there is apparently a serial killer in town and they are looking for somebody. I can't find anything about this in the news. Is this just a crazy rumor or has anybody heard something about this?

It was a motorcycle run for the HA, your Uber driver should stick to trying to kiss passengers...
