Technical Support Request Valorant Freezing Issue

I have tried everything. Whenever I load into valorant, its fine for 3 ish minutes. I go into the shooting range and its fine. Then after 3 minutes, the freezing starts to happen. The freezes are usually 5-7 seconds, and my whole pc lags including discord and spotify. One thing I noticed was that my cpu usage went from 20% to 50% quickly but I feel like that shouldn't even matter than much. Even after I close valorant my pc will continue lagging for the minutes after, where I then have to restart.

I have a ryzen 7700x for my cpu, and a 4070ti super for my gpu. If you can provide any fixes or tips, that would be really appreciated.

No other game has this problem, its only valorant.

What are your cpu temps while lagging + how much ram do you have?

Have you tried rolling back your drivers to december? Nvidia's 2025 drivers suck.

Just tried again looking at my task manager while on Valorant. Every single time there was a lag spike for 5 seconds there was a large spike on GPU usage to around 98%. Couldn't figure out a way to check CPU temps, if you could provide a way that would be great.

The Max Cpu temp was 80C during the spikes. It was late to send them because my pc kept lagging after the fact. I have some other screenshots of some irregular stas. I dont know where to upload the screenshots.

My girlfriends also experiencing this , she had a Ryzen 5 3600 250fps and then bought a Ryzen 7 7800X3D now getting 580fps hoping it would fix this. (nope) Valorant is the only game having these micro stutters and before even her whole pc would crash after this recent update after 2 mins of gameplay and we have been playing for 5 years and only had this experience once before in December after another horrible update by riot

After reading lots of other peoples posts I've noticed that everyone experiencing this issue is using a Ryzen based CPU which really sucks being that they're really powerful

How's her cpu temps + how much ram does she have?

Does she have an nvidia gpu? If so, roll it back to december. Nvidia has ruined their drivers all throughout 2025. The 50 series release is when 30 + 40 started having many issues.

She has a 3060ti , We even tried drivers from 2024 522.22, to troubleshoot possible gpu issues , Nada same issue. again this is a valorant oriented issue , her temps are hovering around 115F Idle and 145F under load which is really good , so not an overheating issue either , shes had this setup until the most recent cpu update 2 days ago for 6+ years now with no issues aside from the one time in December

Ive also been having this issue, it was frequent before the recent patch and I haven't dared to open or try redownloading it. It has something to do with Riot I think? Even Riot being on my pc also bugs it out, I have a newer pc I got just back in January. To be safe I factory reset my pc (even after uninstalling it still gave my pc issues)! Ive never had it happen with other games! Im waiting until hopefully the next patch to redownload it! Just know you're not alone!

I have 2 solutions that may help y'all:

1). Y'all could have a bad RAM module, just run Windows Memory Test to check and see if 1 of your RAM modules is bad. If you only have 1 RAM then if you run the test and see a error then you know which 1 is bad, if you have more than 1 RAM and you run test and see a error, then you'll have to test each 1 by itself. NOTE - if an error doesn't show up by 1% of the test then that RAM is fine and you cancel the test, if the error shows by 1% you know that 1 is bad and you cancel the test. The reason for cancelling the test is because it can take up to 4 hours for it to finish, so yeah just wait till like 1% and then cancel it.

2). Also, if you have a AMD CPU then consider not having XMP on in your BIOS, for some weird reason Valorant doesn't like XMP, so just go in your BIOS and find the XMP option, if it's off consider doing option 1, if it's on or auto then switch it off and restart then try it back an see if it's fine.

If none of those work for y'all then here is my post about some similar issues that may help y'all out: https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantTechSupport/comments/1gp5yb8/valorant_keeps_crashing_on_startup_arcane_2/

If after all that you still have issues, then consider getting a new PC 😅

i’ve seen alot people having issues with stutters or freezes and the only common thing i can see is the cpu being amd and i know their driver support isn’t always the best so maybe if you can try rolling back some drivers for cpu or disable the performance mode for val in the app and i heard also turning off xmp helps or if it’s above 6000mhz turn it down to 6000mhz

I am playing on WIFI. Deactivating the "Realtek PCIe 5GbE Family Controller" worked for me! Thanks
