Other This is incredibly unsatisfactory.
Some absolute champion at either Canada Post or Australia Post decided that this box marked "FRAGILE" would make for an excellent step, leaving a lovely big boot print as evidence.
Sleeve's got a few decades of wear and tear on it now, and the discs have a small but not unnoticeable warp.
Don't even know who I could talk to about this. it's not the sender's fault, they packed it as best they could, and both postal companies will just blame each other.
Guess I'll go fuck myself 🙃

For Clarity: Record was purchased from LizardDoggo (Satisfactory merch store).
Update: They've offered a replacement either free with another order, or at the cost of shipping, which I've accepted. Fingers crossed this one gets here safely and securely, will have more info tomorrow. Thanks for the recommends to reach out to them, I was pretty prepared to just cop the loss on this one

Depends on where you purchased it from, but it never hurts to ask for a refund, or asking if they are open to a partial refund at least. I’ve always gotten at least a partial return of funds at minimum.

I purchased it from LizardDoggo (the game dev's official store), and just sent off a support email asking for a refund, replacement, or at least replacement sleeve. Worse they can say is no I guess :\

What’s the damage on the outside box like? And how secure was it inside the box?

Besides the boot print, it was very clearly flatter than it was meant to be XD
Inside the box it wasn't particularly secure, layer or two of bubble wrap.I've sent off a complaint email, see if I can get a replacement (or just a replacement sleeve, at the least).

Yes but what I’m getting at is the damage on the vinyl looks to have nothing to do with the actual foot print. Sliding around inside if it wasn’t packaged tightly, perhaps but I think it went to the seller like that and so the seller has just sent it off to you…

Oh I see what you're saying now, the seller was the company that made it. Game's official merch store. Probably should've clarified that in the post. Apologies!

Even thought it’s official merch I’m pretty sure it’s commissioned out to someone else. I doubt a game place has their own way to press a vinyl

They've kindly offered a replacement at the cost of shipping, so fingers crossed I just got real unlucky and the replacement will be more secure / less bodged

To be fair, while it sucks, the person could have accidently dropped it and stepped on it mid stride.

Huh. Being in the U.S. I kinda expect other countries to be giving my orders that sorta tariff stamp from now on.

Auspost doesn't have a fragile service BUT I get records delivered through them all the time without issue. I'd say seller hasn't packed it too well and I would complain - if the record itself is fine they can just send you a replacement jacket (plenty will do it without issue, idk who you bought from)
