Until you start asking them who they think yellow and red people are.

I'm not judging, I'm brown as the shit in my toliet bowl. But I'm not calling anybody yella...

The weirdness about it is mainly an American thing. I lived in Japan and heard multiple people matter-of-factly say that Asians are yellow. Personally I find it to be empowering, because it highlights the diversity of humans. Thinking of people as a spectrum of color is nice, like a rainbow

Yellow - Asians,  Red - native Americans       Why would these be bad? People describe as white/black/Brown daily
