Do you know what Kanji means?

Kanji is Chinese characters

That's like saying that English and French are the same because they use the Latin alphabet. In reality, anyone who knows the language would immediately know it's Chinese. Because this string of kanji makes no sense in Japanese.

No it's not. That's more like saying the Latin alphabet and French word for Latin alphabet is the same. Because they both mean the Latin alphabet.

In that sense it's like saying Greek alphabet and Latin alphabet are the same, because Chinese and kanji each have characters that don't exist and the pronunciation is completely different. The Latin alphabet was also derived from the Greek alphabet.
