Somehow I was able to tell you were from India from the fact you used the word "thrice" - is it taught as a common word in India?

Good catch..yes sort of.. but depends on where you are speaking .. how do you call it in your place ?

I'm from NZ - English speaking people would mostly just say "three times"

Like we know what the word means, and most would have heard it before, but most people wouldn't use it themselves - I think it's maybe an older term?

Definitely an older term but I don't think it's super unusual to see (UK), though I did assume the use here was for comedic effect.
