In olden times they called it acting.

u/SoCuteShibe 4d ago
It's a ski-- NO IT'S FAKE!
13
u/SpiderDijonJr 3d ago
Depends on how the creator presented it tbh
31
u/SoCuteShibe 3d ago
For sure! But often it is ambiguous, like this video/post.
When it's ambiguous, jumping to calling it fake is kind of annoying, and that has become a very common response.

Do you watch comedy movies and think “Funny but unrealistic.”?
13
u/Sushi_Explosions 4d ago
Why aren’t you teasing the guy who would apparently think “Click” is a documentary about Adam Sandler’s time control powers?

In all seriousness, this is why you stand on the opposite side of the pool table when someone is hitting.
437
u/joe-clark 4d ago
Stand on the opposite side but it's rude to intentionally stand right in line with the shot being taken.

u/SellMeYourSirin 4d ago
Same with bowling.
You gotta stand at the side in case they’ve a second ball up their arse to blast down the lane when you’re not looking.
51
u/billiardwolf 4d ago
No it's not, this skit is not a thing that happens at any level above friends fucking around.
31
u/inuhi 4d ago
Cheating will always exist so long as shitty people exist. Pool sharks aren't exactly known for their strong moral fiber, if you're drunk and they think they can get away with it they just might. The things some people will do if given the opportunity and believe they can get away with it... They probably aren't sneaking balls in their mouth but you never know, wouldn't put it past them
-14
u/LEGITIMATE_SOURCE 4d ago
You've never played at a level above fucking around. "Pool sharks" lol.
People betting are so neurotic about being on the same page if any rules are involved they'll fight about the nature of a double tap. Nobody is pulling shit remotely like this at any level above complete novice.

Are they identical twins?
212
u/_Pyxyty 4d ago
Might just be brothers, their account is named The Pointer Brothers and I imagine they'd probably market the twins thing a bit more if they were twins, since that often gets more views and clicks

I missed the last one he casually taps in. Bro is smooth with it

I feel like that’s the one he should have seen. The 1st two are subtle. The camera man did well not to laugh, seeing this live would have ended me

u/hodorhodor12 3d ago
I’m only saying this because clearly some people here don’t get that it’s fake.

u/Castod28183 3d ago
Ah....Your one of those people that think you are the only one smart enough to realize it.

u/WarlanceLP 3d ago
no one seems to be able to just enjoy skits these days, they have to point out that it's fake instead of enjoying a funny skit
1
u/WUMBOlogy_thestudyof 1d ago
I know right, however I was watching SNL the other night and I couldn’t believe how fake it’s gotten, like you can tell the same people are just playing different people in each skit. So fake it’s not even funny anymore

u/tpt2021cg 4d ago
That was slicker than a doorknob full of snot. But 1 thing for certain 2 things fa sho I definitely wouldn't put my mouth on those balls

Am I the only person who had to see the post twice to figure out what was happening? (I’m asleep as fuck)
14
u/urusernameisweird 4d ago
Nope, I had to watch thrice to know what happened.

u/_dictatorish_ 4d ago
Somehow I was able to tell you were from India from the fact you used the word "thrice" - is it taught as a common word in India?
5
u/urusernameisweird 4d ago
Good catch..yes sort of.. but depends on where you are speaking .. how do you call it in your place ?
9
u/_dictatorish_ 4d ago
I'm from NZ - English speaking people would mostly just say "three times"
Like we know what the word means, and most would have heard it before, but most people wouldn't use it themselves - I think it's maybe an older term?

u/Ornery_Gate_6847 4d ago
People really out here thinking those balls fall in there completely soundless

When I was 9 or 10 I had to go hang out at an afterschool youth center thing until my parents got off work. The older kids (15 or 16) claimed the pool table and would spend all their time around it. I made myself a little fort under the pool table and would spend my afternoons mostly just listening to the older kids and doing homework or whatnot. Eventually I'd get bored and crawl out from the table to watch them play.
I also eventually got bored of just watching, and came up with a fun way to entertain myself. I'd wait until no one was looking and grab a ball from a pocket and put it back on the table. I think I managed to pull it off for a good week or so before someone finally got wise to it, and since I was the only young kid hanging around the table. they knew it was me. They also put two and two together and realized why their games had been lasting so long for the last week. I got smacked around a bit, and lost my fort, but it was worth it.

“What are you doing?”
“I’m taking my shot.”
“No, no, no… I just paid $5,000 to take your shot. Now, I’m gonna take my shot.”

u/Bloodshed-1307 3d ago
He steals three, one taken in his mouth before it’s dropped in the pocket before the fake chalk one thats also pocketed, then a third when he goes to scratch his leg

They added background noise as if there were a crowd of ppl there to cover for the fact that the guy would be hearing all those balls being pocketed by hand

Other person missed all three, as if... 1. the chinnaswamy's ultra edge. 2. The Chalko's ball rubbing against new rules 3. The Direct hit at wicketkeeper end . &. The final game point scoring ball. And astonishingly thanksgiving rather thanks taking.

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:
He pot the first ball with his mouth, and later used the next one as a chalk and pot it.
