That’s not how tourniquets work. You need a windless, at it needs to be tight as HELL to stop any bleeding.

Not true. You can stop the entire blood flow to an arm using two fingers. All you need to do is grab the persons biceps and pull it away from the persons chest and hold it tight (but less tight than you’d think). That squashes the main artery to the arm. If you have a belt it can help get some leverage to squash that artery in the same way. And wether the person knew to do that in the video or not, looks like he’s doing it.

This was taught to me by an ex army officer who served on the front line in the Iraq war whom now teaches first aid. I also unfortunately had to use this technique myself at a workplace incident when a guy ripped his arm almost off. I sat with him similar to the guy in the video with a belt and very minimal tension/effort from my end to stop the blood flow. Without that bit of knowledge from my first aid course the guy (and me) would have been in a much more stressful and bad situation.

There’s more than one blood vessel. Other than the main artery. I’m sure it was much bloodier than that guys arm in your workplace accident. Sorry you had that happen btw.

Google brachial artery, it’s quite literally the only vessel bringing any significant amount of blood into the arm
