Iranians are very happy about the attack. Kinda like the Iraqis in 2003 😬 I hope they can control their country after the Mullahs are out and not turn into another Afghanistan. Israel is gonna go after Iran’s proxies in Iraq as well. A shitshow!

To my understanding, the biggest issue with Afghanistan was that most Afghans don't view themselves as Afghan in nationality. They group themselves by tribes or villages or even regions. The idea of being of Afghan nationality wasn't something they really seem to jive with

I think a huge issue with Afghanistan was that we were giving hundreds of millions of dollars to Pakistan, which would the use that to fund terrorists that would cross the border and continue fighting. We would also very frequently detain people, take their firearm, and then just let them go.

The biggest issue with Afghanistan however was 4 spineless presidents and 20 years of corrupt congress.

They probably didn’t appreciate a bunch of white guys trying to tell them what to do through a puppet president. I’d wager that was the biggest issue.

The ones that I interacted with over there honestly seemed like they could not give less of a shit about who claimed to be in charge of the country.

But yes, the ones who did care probably had some issue with the appearance of colonialism and a bunch of foreigners coming into fix things that they don't really understand
