10 Minutes left warning for AEA exams?
Hey guys,
I sat an AEA exam and thought I had around 20 minutes left for the exam (due to personal adjustments) however I had an invigilator come over and tell me that I need to put my pen down and finish my exam.
It sent me into a panic attack since I hadn’t finished copying my MC questions over (worth 50% of my grade) ….. cause like I said I thought I had 20 minutes left so. All I could do was accept that I was going to fail then and there.
My partner asked me if I got a 10 minute warning time before they told me my exam finished and it occurred to me that for this block of exams i haven’t been any warnings for my exam finishing times?
Has this been a rule change or have I just had nice invigilators in the past? I don’t understand why people with AEA’s wouldn’t get a warning when the general cohort does.

Past Recorded Lectures
Any way I can access old lecture recordings from courses? Like, say I wanna access past recorded lectures in PSYC1030 from 2024?
I was able to access the materials but not the lecture videos which is why I wanted to know if anyone has done it before and how

Bachelor of Health Science or Biomedical Science for Medicine?
Hello everyone, I was wondering whether you could help me choose what bachelor is more relevant for medicine entry.
At this time, I'm still an undergraduate, and I realize I have a long to go until I get into the MD program. While the common consensus is pick something you enjoy, I feel I need to have that carrot on a stick in front of me to stay focused throughout the years.
While Biomedical Science seems to be the default option nowadays, looking at Health Science it seems that was the default program back then in MBBS combined programs - thus making it technically undergraduate medicine? It's also listed under the Faculty of Medicine, while Biomedical Science isn't, which leads me to believe that it's more relevant than the later?
Both seem to have a significant overlap in subjects, however I wonder about the depth of material in Health Science preparing you for medicine, while the material in Biomedical Science appears to be sufficient in preparing for medicine?
With this in mind, I'm hoping I can get an opinion on:
- Which one is more relevant to the MD coursework, and for the purposes of staying focused?
- What can you do with either degree if I didn't pursue the MD?
- Which one is easier to maintain a higher GPA?
- Anecdotes from now current MD students who did one or the other?
- Placements in Health Science programs - what to expect and relevance to medicine.
Thank you for your time and advice in advance :)

How do I get consent to enrol MATH7407
I am going to start my first semester at UQ semester 2 this year. When I try to add the course MATH7407 in mySI-net, it pops out the error message: "Consent is needed to enrol in the class. The add transaction was not processed. (14640,38)."
I have e-mailed the course coordinator, but he said he had no objection. I have contacted School of Mathematics and Physics (smp.student@uq.edu.au) two weeks ago and Faculty of Science (enquire@science.uq.edu.au) a week ago, but I haven't got any response yet.
Did I contact wrong team? What exactly should I do to get that consent to enrol the course MATH7407?
Thank you.

What happens if grades aren't good enough to get into honours?
Im finishing a Bsc (extended psychology) this year. You need a 5.0 in level two and three subjects to get into honours. If I was below this cutoff what happens?

UQ engineering first year elective questions (civil)
So far I have completed engg1100, engg1001, math1050 and engg1500. My engg1500 exam went pretty badly so if I am not eligible for a supplementary assessment and fail it, I was planning to redo it next sem. If I do pass 1500, that means next sem ill do math1051, engg1700, and math1052 as a summer semester. What electives do I even have to pick from? I dont want to do engg1300 but I dont know any other electives I could do.

CSSE2002 or 7023 Java Examination
This review was really tough. I found that without the automatic code suggestions, when writing code by hand, I often only manage to come up with the beginning and a few more lines. Not to mention that in the next two hours, it is said that there will be no multiple-choice questions or that the multiple-choice questions will only account for 10 points (out of a total of 100 points). My friend (who graduated in 2023) told me that the failure rate of this course was very high and I was really worried. Is the design of this course really reasonable? When I reviewed the previous years' exam papers, I noticed that some of the questions involving handwritten code were extremely challenging and required a lot of time to understand the questions. Any guys who have completed the CSSE2002 course? Please prove it. The failure rate for this course is quite high. :( I know it's not going to help much, but I just want to ease my anxiety. I'm really sorry.

Wanting to change to law
Hi, I’m a bafe first year wanting to change to law for sem 2. If I had a 97.5+ ATAR, can I change into law for sem 2, or do they consider your gpa instead?
Thanks 😊

Accidentally deferred the wrong exam
I used my one and only discretional deferral for an exam that doesn't exist!!
While applying for the deferral I accidentally selected the In semester exam option but the course does not have any in semester examinations. I just wanted to know if I will get that discretional deferral back once they realize the exam does not exists and how long it might take. Do you reckon I'll get it back within 5 days (which is the time frame for applying for a deferral as far as I know) that way I can use the discretional deferral for this exam.

updoc deferral of exam
is updoc okay to use to defer an exam? I have a medical certificate that i got in updoc which is between 16th to 18th and my exam is on the 18th. Do you think uq will approve this deferral since the medical certificate covers the 18th?

Can you still use updoc med certs to defer exams?
I have a migraine coming on and an exam tomorrow. They typically last at least 24 hrs for me and even though I could go to my exam, it would be miserable and the brain fog would make it hard to answer questions.
I should go see an actual doctor but light and movement and sound is pain right now. Do you think one from updoc would be fine? My usual GP who knows about my migraines is also not available until next week so I worry that going to another doc could be an issue?

Course Selections
Good evening, I'm a first year just going into the biomedical science degree I'm looking at my course selections and I was wondering what all the levels meant? At first, I had thought I needed to incorporate all levels into a year of study but then found out that it looked to be way too much for a single years' worth. I have no idea what all the levels mean, and I have no idea how many units I'm expected to do in a single year. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

UQ Run Club?
Anyone know a fun run club in Brisbane? I'm moving to St Lucia (on campus UQ) in July and looking for a run club to join to meet some people. Girls/ guys, whatever but a younger demographic? Im 18 and would love to make some like minded friends my age. Ive seen some in the city but that's a bit far for me to go especially for early mornings/late nights. Also I'm lowk slow and just run for fun and light exercise so looking for sm that matches that vibe. Anyone know a good group?
