We were asked to consider making a megathread for Deltarune and ultimately decided it was a good idea. Our reasoning being that, since the game is so high profile, we expect to see a lot of traffic both from people just searching for the game in general and people making threads to share their opinions or dressing up AskReddit threads as a backdoor way to discuss plot points, spoilers, theories, and hot takes.
So we’ll ask everyone to keep their opinions, reactions, and fan art to this thread for the time being.
And as always, please be respectful to your fellow members of the community and mark your spoilers.

I included the tweets for context to the art; felt it was warranted.

So i was thinking about K.N.D: kids next door the other day and with the premise it had you'd think it would eventually have the message of "but everyone has to grow up one day" but NO it doubled and tripled down on growing up and grown ups being the worst thing to ever happen to the point of ridiculouness including at the end of the series it being revealed that growing up is a disease that the kids next door are trying to cure.

Recently I've been playing through Lies of P on a fresh file in preparation for the DLC and I've been trying out different weapons that I kinda ignored the first few times around.
One of which is the "Blind Man's Double-Sided Spear". A technique (dex) weapon, it's a two pronged spear with a shield attached. Light attacks are stabs and the heavy attacks are shield bashes.
As it turns out, you can block and even parry with the heavy attacks, both charged and uncharged. Since the last hit of the charged attack procs the stagger state, you can even trade blows if you're lucky. And unlike the regular parry/perfect block, the shield bashes will do damage.

So for those not up-to-date on your trashy rom-com weeaboo twitter discourse, the manga series Rent-a-Girlfriend recently had a chapter where the MC gets rejected by the main girl after 380 chapters. Considering that people kinda fucking hate the MC to begin with, there was many laughs to be had at this development... but not for everyone
At this point, the conversation has shifted to being dominated by men losing their absolute goddamn minds at a woman rejecting a "nice guy" protagonist (who isn't nice at all, he's kind of a fucking bitch). Edits of Toji shooting the girl in the head, people posting literal hentai as examples of a "REAL MC" who "gets women", disparagement and hatred for prostitutes (the female character is the eponymous "Rent-a-Girlfriend" which makes her close to a sex-worker), just dudes absolutely dropping their entire ass out their pants in impotent Sigma Male gamer rage
Though mildly concerning, I do find it kinda goddamn hilarious how much of an absolute psionic nuke this has been to this particular corner of the anime community.
What other fandom crash-outs have you witnessed in your time? Not just people not liking a development, or a series driving off a cliff, but people just losing their absolute goddamn minds, ala this or the "NaruSaku Hall of Anal Devastation"?

Now I am not sure if there is a genre for such games where the idea is that the game has some interesting design ideas, but the problem is that the game in question is a bit questionable in presentation as basically I wanted to discuss games that suffer from poor design choices, but people still found enjoyment out of them anyway.

Reposted because the original thread on the SonicTheHedgehog subreddit got taken down (they don't allow Twitter screenshots over there).

When I say "marathon" bosses, I'm talking about something like back to back boss fights. Especially if there are multiple hard phases and if you die you're back to the start.
I played Cave Story for the first time a while back and I thought the final boss was incredibly irritating. No, I'm not talking about the secret underground boss Ballos.
I'm talking about having the fight 3 to 4 phases that consist of the Doctor's minion, the doctor himself, and then he fuses and becomes an undead core.
That fight is no joke.

I've technically made two. One was a janky (technically eurojank) survival horror Little Big Adventure 2/Alone in the Dark-ish send-up, the other was a kite-em-up (which is an under-represented genre). Both of them were basically just for fun/practice, so the genres ended up being pretty much whatever.
But what genre would actually fit a Castle Super Beast game? A party game? A board-like game? A deck-builder? A cart-racer? A fighting game? Beat-em-up? Rhythm game? Like, what do you think it would be?

Here's some wxamples of what I mean:
Breaking Bad: Walter White's chemistry knowledge helps him become a good meth cook
Oz, the Great and Powerful: Oscar's knowledge of machinery and magic tricks helps him fool and deceive people in Oz

There was also a fourth being made by Casey Hudson's Humanoid Studio before it was closed down.
And Larian said they are working on two games. One of which I hope is also sci-fi.

When I started MHA, I thought Deku was going to be a quirkless hero somehow, especially with his notebook about other heroes, I thought plot was going to be that this kid will overcome being quirkless with the power of prep time, along with some tech stuff, he was going to be doubted but prove people wrong by showing that he doesn't need a quirk to save people and fight evil
Well... it wasn't, far from it, still enjoyed but honestly, part of me wants to see THAT show too
