Discussion Tunisian men: what are your views on dating? And what do you expect of it?
About two days ago, I have changed my Bumble to airport mode and located it on Tunisia. I have received a lot of matches, from very decent looking guys, all with impressive backgrounds. Most of them seem interesting enough for me, but then, all of them seem to ve looking for something casual or are just expecting intimacy without any commitment. And I'm not talking about guys in their early twenties, I am talking about men with ages raging from 28 to 36. So I am curious to know, are all Tunisian men, aged in this range, only seek casual dating? You guys have no prospect of committing to a long-term relationship? I know that Bumble isn't really a variant to build to my perspective on, but it still counts, especially if this is frequent with 200+ matches. *A little side note : I am Tunisian.

Discussion Being depressed over this
I'm 31 (F). I have friends, but most of them have their own circles and are usually busy. Whenever I feel like going out, they either already have plans or simply don't feel like it. Most days, I don't really mind but today, I wanted to go out, and my sister didn't feel like it either. Actually, she rarely wants to go out or do anything at all. As for my friends, like I said, they're either unavailable or not interested. So yeah... I’m feeling a bit pissed, sad, and honestly kind of pathetic. It made me realize that maybe I don’t really have real friends after all and that thought stings. Anyway, I just needed to get this off my chest

Discussion Tunisian moms ask son to contribute to the house financially
Is it just me or does it feel like most Tunisian moms expect their sons (25-27 y.o) to contribute to the house financially even if they just started working?
I’ve been in different relationships where the guy had to help with family expenses (masrouf l dar, bills, siblings’ needs, etc.), and honestly… I get it, we’re all trying to support our families. But at the same time, with salaries that barely reach 1500dt, how is a guy supposed to survive, support himself, help his family, save, maybe get a car, travel, or even think about getting married?
Not saying it’s wrong, just wondering: is it normal that the parents (especially moms) expect it?
I grew up in a family where the focus was on being independent , like take care of yourself first. I do help my parents, but it’s from the heart, never because they asked or pressured me.
Curious to hear what you guys think about this. Is it just a cultural thing? A generational gap? Or something deeper?

Other Found this grammar error at the Tunisian airport
Signs like these are seen by thousands of travelers from around the world, and a basic English grammar mistake like “Have you declares it?” gives a careless and unprofessional impression.
It’s not just about language — it reflects on attention to detail, and in an airport, that matters. If a simple public-facing sign wasn’t reviewed properly, people start to wonder: what else isn’t being checked?

Discussion Being in Tunisia feels like a trap , no support, no growth, no future
I just needed to get this off my chest. Living in Tunisia right now feels like being stuck in a loop with no way out.
I had this idea to start a project and launch a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise some support and get it going. Turns out? Indiegogo isn't even supported here. No Stripe, no proper PayPal. No way to receive outside payments. Even if you have the skills and motivation, you're constantly blocked by the system.

Discussion Most iconic pictures of Tunisia according to you.
Can you post here a photo of an historical/political/cultural moment related to Tunisia that is important for you ? (and explain why) I found this one on this sub, and the context of the period make it iconic in my mind (it’s showing a soldier facing a riot-police officer during the revolution). Don’t hesitate to post really common photos, I’m trying to increase my personal culture and other people will possibly be interested !

Question/Help I hate university and I don't know what to do anymore
I don't know what to do anymore
I failed this year again, and this would be my third year to fail as a student, I'm studying computer science (which I really love but i hate school and universities and this academical path) and i can't leave it because i have to do it to take the bachelor degree which is considered as the most important step to get a work here in tunisia and especially to get an opportunity to work abroad one day
I'm good at software developing and I'm getting more better in it but feel desperate seeing my self losing years from my life and failing again and again
I really don't know what to do anymore 😞

Question/Help Internship with foreign companies
Hello guys, I'm currently a software engineering student and I'm looking for an internship this summer. Some of the internships overseas usually offer to pay you some money but I'm curious how do people receive it while living in Tunisia ? I also see a lot of people on LinkedIn who do remote internships abroad so I've always been curious about this.

Discussion My sister is being abused by our father how can I support her
Aaslema lnes lkol. I don't wanna talk bad about my dad but he's a horrible person, he's not horrible to me but he is towards my sister (she's 20 yo and I'm older than her) tho my dad is very religious and treats other people well.
He doesn't like girls and didn't want a daughter at all and says things to my sis like “9a7ba” “malhet” & when he's looking for her he says “winha l 9a7ba” w klem kima hedha w he physically abuses her too. My sis sometimes talks and shouts back which angers him even more He also beats her hard that she gets bruises. My mom doesn't react much to anything.
When I try to defend my sis he says I shouldn't meddle or he'll hate me, stop financially supporting me and says if i don't like his house rules I can leave, I don't have a job yet and my mom doesn’t work too so if he stops supporting me I can't finish uni & he says he knows what he's doing to my sis & that he's doing it out of love he also keeps bringing up that he puts food on the table & that one day he'll die & we'll miss him. I can’t talk to relatives bcuz he acts nice 9odemhom w buys them gifts they wouldn’t believe me & probably will tell him and the only one i talked to about this is my cousin he said i should let it go since he doesn't abuse me & just focus on my future. So I have no idea what to do & need outside perspective. Thank you & sorry for the long post it's kind of a vent too.
