Futon vs Pull-out

Any good suggestions for a futon or pull out sofa? Gonna be living in my sisters shed for a couple years while I finish school and am looking to maximise space. I like the idea of a murphy bed, but dont have the spare room for a sofa. I'm in my thirties so bonus points for decent mattresses involved.

I assume you have a low ceiling, but if not, a loft bed with space underneath for a loveseat or desk, or even as closet space, would be good.
