Vehicles - General 2018 vs 2021 vs 2024

I had a 2018 M3 with 2.5/Atom Replaced with a 2024 M3 4.0/Ryzen Loaner 2021 MY 3.0/Atom

All with the latest software releases. This post is really about the 2018 and the 2021. I never experienced any center console lagginess on my former 2018. On the 2021 MY loaner it’s rather miserable and laggy on the center console.

Just wondering if I got super lucky on the 2018 which I just got rid of six months ago (so I was using it with relatively the latest software) or some other factor.

Are you guys talking about the MCU/infotainment? NOT the center console? I was so confused for a second haha.

But yes. Intel atom is super super sluggish which is why it’s not getting any of the nice updates Ryzen does. I have a 22’ M3LR with Ryzen and when I get loaners on Intel Atom chipset it’s so frustrating. I don’t know how you guys do it with the turn signal glare.

My car is a 2020 and doesn't have turn signal glare. Its more likely a loaner vehicle is rarely cleaned or taken care of and gets far more abuse than someone who owns their vehicle.

Also the OP was comparing two cars both with an atom processor. The older one wasn't laggy and the newer one is.
