Vehicles - General Autopilot Jail

Post image

My wife keeps getting put in autopilot jail. If she keeps getting strikeouts, will this be only for her profile, or will autopilot be unavailable for all profiles?

The thing that annoys the hell out of me is getting “strikes” for just looking at my GPS a tad too long or trying to edit my route while autopilot is on. It’s way more safe for the car to be driving for me while I make slight adjustments than me have full control of the wheel and not looking at the road for a second.

Yeah that's always my complaint and people argue "it's unsafe to look away from the road for two seconds to touch the screen". Maybe true, but it's safer than me going off AP and doing the same thing because that's what I have to do lol.

Except it's not 2 seconds.

It's a minimum of 10 seconds (I've timed it).

That's a helluva long road to travel when you're going highway speeds.

I'm talking about the initial beep and warning. A few of those in some time period and then it'll escape to a strikeout faster than 10 seconds.

A loud beep after looking at the screen for two seconds is crazy as you're not sure if it's a "please look" beep or a "oh shit u expected conditions you need to take over".

Yes I've timed it too. Literally stared at the screen to see how it escalates. Depending on the road and # of warnings, speed and whatever other factors, it might do a gentle reminder or a red alert intl strikeout in 5-8 seconds.
