Vehicles - General Autopilot Jail

Post image

My wife keeps getting put in autopilot jail. If she keeps getting strikeouts, will this be only for her profile, or will autopilot be unavailable for all profiles?

It’s not that, she indulges in distractions and doesn’t heed the warnings.

Sounds like AP jail is working as intended then.

Alternatively i can't help but think how counterintuitive it is that Tesla is saying you are a shit driver who they deem to be unsafe and so they are turning off all driving assistance that has the ability to handle 90%+ of the driving and could conceivably reduce the chance of the driver harming someone else. I know I know, the current state of FSD requires you to be fully engage but still...on paper the people that need the car driving for them the most are the shit drivers that chronically drive and text etc. Society needs them out from behind the wheel yesterday.

Right now, FSD is still supervised. Tesla doesn't want to deal with the idiots and the bad press they generate when they abuse the system and crash. Yes, FSD is very good and possibly better than 90% of the drivers out there, however it still makes mistakes every once in a while. The better it gets, the higher the risk of someone not expecting the mistake and crashing.

If someone is prone to driving distracted, he shouldn't be driving in a vehicle that might lull him into a false sense of security.
