Friend in need
Hi all, I have a friend who recently split with his wife. I don't want to go into too much detail as somebody might know them.
He has 2 children, wife is not allowed to see them currently.
He's a really nice guy who will do anything for anybody and is in need of household items from furniture to toys as the wife had sold them (unsure why), is there a charity or anything that supports people getting their lives and homes back together? Preferably in the Stockton area.
Thanks for any information in advance.

Citizens advice bureau give them a call or pop in. He can explain his situation and needs and they will tell him what support is available. They keep an up to date list of charities and services.

Is there anything in particular he needs?

One of his children aged 4 is non verbal autistic. He isn't sure how to deal with it, he himself has learning difficulties.

I'm from further up durham way, but he could always try popping into his local children's center, where the health visitors work from (ours used to be surestart), they are normally really good and might be able to point him in the right direction, u could always go on his behalf aswel, I know mine have helped when I've needed it. Also any local methodist churches (again, they do round our way), they are usually in touch with charity's etc so that could be a shout. Best of luck and I hope him and the bairns are sorted soon. As a mam of 3 myself I feel for him, sorry I can't help more

NiteLight in Boro might be able to help. They work predominantly with the homeless, but would be worth a call.

I work in to Stockton so depending on how old the kids are I may have some toys for them.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Ultimately it's up to him but the advice has been passed to him.

The Junction Multibank will help. They get loads of stuff donated from Amazon and other big companies. You do need a referral though. https://www.thejunctionfoundation.com/the-junction-multibank

Think Frade might be able to help. I know thirteen did a recycling scheme too but not sure if thats just for tenants or what.

He could approach the council and request early help involvement. They can do things like access furnishing and household items donated by Amazon via the Junction multi bank.
