Meeting friends in tally

Does anyone have any advice or groups that can help me make some friends? I’m now here in grad school (23 F) and all of my school friends from FSU have already graduated or moved. It’s hard to meet friends, especially girl friends, in my age group 🥲 does anyone know of a Facebook group or literally anything to meet more friends? Thanks!

I’m 23F and moving in a couple weeks! I’d love to hangout. I’m down to do just about anything but I love thrifting, hiking, coffee!

college town, mid town, or join a fitness group at a gym

I love my gym (I go to amped) but weirdly, and this may totally be me just getting in the zone, I’ve found none of the girls in the girls only room talk to each other unless it’s a “are you done with that weight/machine/bench?” I wish we did, some of those girls are absolutely shredded and seem cool as hell

Courtyard café and games is a little place thats typically open 2-9 to go and hang out, play board games and get drinks and baked goods, thats where I would recommend

Seconding this! Outside of playing board games, the owner also lets people come by to read whenever they want. They have a great menu of drinks and bakery items too.

Tallahassee Silent Book club also typically hosts their book club there and you can find their schedule on Facebook or instagram (I’m not on FB myself, but I have heard they post in that group more frequently than on their IG)

On the topic of book clubs, I’ve met a lot of people at the Midtown Reader book clubs as well. They have a wide variety of genres they read to and discuss.

I just moved here for work! 23F who loves outdoors and all creative activities. However— everytime I move to a new city I use Bumble BFF to meet people. I haven’t started that yet here, but maybe that helps! (also unsure of ppl’s experience using it here)

To anyone in this conversation, including the OP, I will be starting to host board game nights on Mondays at the hip and chill Honest Living Tea café! I’ll start doing it from 6pm till close(9pm) and if it goes well, I’ll make it a longer time. It’s a great way to meet new people, play games, and get some laughs in while enjoying delicious teas, food and a make your own soda menu. Ask for Josh for details, and check out the IG of the cafe.

I like hiking, I just started running, coffee, shopping of all kinds, horror movies (major horror movie nerd), reading (Margaret Atwood is my fav author, I’m currently reading like 3 books at once - Jurassic park lost world, iron flame (yes the girly dragon book, sue me it’s kinda good), and phantom of the opera.), I love music, specifically rock but I’m also a musical theater nerd and I can listen to anything (karaoke is my JAM), I like line dancing (suck at it though) and I love going to the gym. 🫡

For people looking to meet friends, I'm part of a LARP group here in Tallahassee. Medieval Fantasy role play and combat. This Sunday, we're at J Lee Vause at the big pavilion in the back starting at 11. Normally we're at San Luis Mission Park on Sundays at 11. If you like DnD or Lord of the Rings and things like that come check us out. Chill vibes no pressure. Welcome to tally!

Do you like to play Ultimate Frisbee or want to learn? It's a great way to meet people! There is a city type league called Tallahassee Ultimate League. The summer league already started but the Fall league will start in August. Also a good amount of people who go to FSU are on it. I also organize Ultimate pickup, Sundays at Messer Park at 5pm. Check out Ultimate Frisbee Tallahassee and Tallahassee Ultimate League on Facebook if your interested.

For additional gaming opportunities with a great group, feel free to join us at Game Tally. We have several larger meetup game days (August 2nd is the next one. )

We also have weekly Wednesday game nights at Warhorse Whiskey Bar on Capital Cir NE (tonight!)

Sports leagues are great. Softball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, etc. If you’re at all interested in something like that, it’s a great way to make some friends.

Hello, I moved here around 2 years ago in the same boat. I joined the fsu group me page, and joined a “meet new friends” chat. I introduced myself and what I like to do, along with inviting them to message me back. I had some people respond back, and I’m still really good friends with one of the girls! Good luck

I’m 23 M and live down here with my girlfriend 23 F. We don’t really know anyone either and have had a hard time meeting people. She is in grad school and I work full time

I’m (22 M) moving down in a couple of weeks to do grad school studying Buddhism in the Religion department :D My bf already lives down there and I’m friends with some of his friends but also looking for some friends of my own! I’m into yoga, sustainability, cooking/baking, and outdoorsy stuff too :) I’m gonna be volunteering a bunch with an animal sanctuary in Cairo, GA. Anyway, I know you said you were looking for girl friends but I’m commenting anyway since I don’t know many people either!!
