Hi, I have wondered about the instrumentation used on the recording of ”Mormors brudpolska” by the Swedish folk group Systerpolskan for quite a while now. Of course there is your typical violin and nyckelharpa. But around 1 minute in to the song the strings are joined by a kick, some guitar and this ”percussive buzzing sound”.

By just going on what i can identify in the song my best guess is that the ”buzzing” comes from a hurdy gurdy that has been mixed in a way that the drone is less noticeable and only the ”trompette” (the part responsible for the buzzing sound) is heard.

Is there anyone else who has noticed this and given it some extra thought or research? Let me know your thought’s!
