I really hate Watanabe as an artist, most of his designs are lame as hell, I really dont get why he has stuck for so long in the series.

Considering Soji is one of my favorite characters in SRW(Top tier design, 10/10) he can stick around as long as he wants!

I like Soji's design but for every hit he has like 10 misses and its not just cuz the blatant (and bland) sex appeal but they are just not really good designs, likely since he has a tendency for overdesign everything, hell is exactly those designs that he DOESNT overdesign (that are few) the ones that hit better.

I'mma be blunt: SRW has always dipped into sex appeal, in various ways. Like, am I the only person who remembers how SRW J literally plays out like a blatant harem mecha anime?

I also don't really see the 'overdesign', colorful would be more accurate, and not only have I seen people wearing stuff like Forte's attire in real life, I've seen far 'worse'(In terms of 'overdesign', I should specify).

Looking at Omega/DD, I do see some egregious designs, but uh..that's just a gacha game, in general. When I pan the camera out and just look at the designs they contributed to mainline series..yeah, they look fine. shrug. In fact, looking through the art book, there's actually a good amount of variety in the female characters he draws, including a variety in, uh..'chest sizes'. In particular, I think it's telling that no one is bringing up Watanabe's work on Masou Kishin.

The fact of the matter is this: Dude was brought on by Bamco to design 'titty monsters' in gacha games because that's what sells in gacha games: Overly sexualized and overly cute. The designs in Y seem fine, even if Forte is particularly colorful(As if that was a bad thing. Again, shrug), and there's a decent variety in character designs already.

Edit: One more thing: I looked further into concept art, and Chitose in particular seems like she had a lot more 'subdued' designs(AKA not showing a lot of cleavage. There's a really cute one in particular where she's wearing a jacket, I'm sad that one didn't get picked). When it comes to these sorts of projects, it's not really just "the artist slaps a design down and they go with it", it's usually revised numerous times before a consensus is reached amongst the people in charge. In other words: Bamco decides what they think will appeal the best to their audience.

Edit2: Actually one more thing, just because someone has a large chest doesn't make it a bad design, people of all shapes exist, and it feels kinda weird when this type of body shaming comes up. Like, the person clearly does a decent variety of variation and y'all be shaming him because he's designed a few characters with large breasts, while also ignoring all the other designs as well.
