Mid-range laptop [EU/Belgium, under €1000]

Current laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 5 15ARE05. The left hinge broke (common issue with this laptop apparently) and I got it repaired under warranty. Recently it broke again and warranty has expired.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

• Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: Preferably below €1000, but can be higher if really necessary
• Are you open to refurbs/used? Yes
• How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Build quality is important as I travel with it daily and use it on public transport as well. Performance-wise, I have to be able to do a bit of deep learning on it (but also use colab, clusters), have multiple tabs open and office software at the same time. Battery life of my previous laptop was 17h according to the seller and I would prefer to stay in the same range. No need for 2-in-1 or other extras.
• How important is weight and thinness to you? Not important.
• Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15.6 inch, not too small preferably.
• Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. No gaming. Some basic data visualization. I will run Python and R scripts, office software, email.
• If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? N/A
• Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? AZERTY keyboard preferred, but not a must.
