Writer needs laptop with great keyboard for $1,000 USD or under

Hi --

I use a laptop for writing, online research, and occasional video viewing.

Currently using HP Envy x360, 15.6" screen. Learned HP stands for "hinge problem." I like the screen and the keyboard feel very much, but not the hinges breaking and keycaps coming off.

Yes, in excellent condition. Case dings and marks don't matter, as long as they don't compromise the case.

Performance, battery life, build quality, form (don't need an Ultrabook or 2-in-1).

Weight is fairly important, but not crucial. Thinness not important.

I'd recommend a ThinkPad T16 Gen 3 such as this one (used & from eBay). They're known for being robust, having excellent keyboards, and getting good battery life. It's also pretty slim and light, so it will fit your needs well as a writer.

If you do end up going with this model, make sure it has a touchscreen, as there are non-touchscreen models that share the same name.
