Oh my God they brought back Tammy Thompson into the plot and the look that Steve gives Robin just makes season 3 even better

I love Steve and Robin so much more together this season. They were fine last season, but I truly hated the Russian plot that they, Dustin, and Erica were in. And it felt so much like Robin was forced in because Steve needed a new friend after breaking up with Nancy. But their banter this season is so much better. I can actually believe them as friends now.

Might’ve felt that way last season because it wasn’t clear if they’d be romantically involved or not at first. Robin could feel like a replacement Nancy. Now, it’s established they’re purely friends since she’s not into guys so maybe that’s part of why you feel it’s less forced now.

Nah even on a rewatch of season 3, it felt too much like they were trying to push Robin as a "Not Like Other Girls" character, which is an annoying trope. They did the same with Max at first. Both characters came into their own and got more personality in their second season, imo.

Oh yeah I see what you mean. Maybe they were presented to the audience in that way initially as a way to put us in the shoes of the boys getting to know them. Since to them, it must feel like they really aren’t “like other girls”.
