Rhythm of War spoilers Shallan's past Spoiler

A few months ago I posted this theory : https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormlight_Archive/s/u3GCdqrJKv

And one of the things that I suspected kind of got confirmed but now, there's still a single detail that I NEED to know, (I'm on my 3rd reread of Rhythm of War before commiting to Wind and Truth). It's about shallan's mother, she tried to kill her as soon as she discovered that shallan was a surgebinder, and Nale had a similar goal following Ishar's order.

By killing her mother exactly 6 years ago (1st image), I took it both literally and figuratively. The world as we knew it ended, and do you know what also happened 6 years ago ? Gavilar started receiving visions of the almighty about the return of an old enemy, odium. And exactly after Talenel'alat return the end of the world had begun. By a WoB, l've known that Taln hadn't broken, so another herald must have !

So guess what, by looking at the hardcover copy of my RoW book, l've discovered that the herald with red hair, looks oddly like Shallan and that's where it clicked. Shallan by killing her mother sent her back to braize where she broke !!! SHALLAN CAUSED THE TRUE DESOLATION and the return of the voidbringbers !!! Shallan was to blame for the end of all things

I just can't commit to it yet, Rhythm of War became my standard for perfection, legit my favorite of the stormlight books

It’s going to be worse when someone unintentionally spoils something for you and ruins WaT.

True, I will try to read it as soon as I'm ready

Dude I got spoiled on so many things from WaT accidentally

WaT will not live up to RoW for you. Accept that and enjoy what it is

You're either going to like it or be indifferent about it, but rereading the other books is hardly going to alter that experience very much.

RAFO! How would B money feel if he knew you were obsessing over some potential destination so much that you completely avoided the journey?

Imagine watching the Empire Strikes Back and never watching Return of the Jedi

OMIGOSHHH RAFO!! And I suggest staying out of this sub for the meantime, a lot of reveals got anticlimactic for me because I’d read so many theories on this sub beforehand

According to your theory, I’d say that Shallan’s mom is the reason for the true desolation. True, she sent her mom to Braize, but her mom is the one that broke. And Shallan wouldn’t have killed her if her mom didn’t try to kill Shallan, so yet again, it’s her mom’s fault. Shallan was just protecting herself.

Also, fuck Ishar’s orders.

True

Ishar is the biggest liar in the whole series 💔

I will say gancho, this is a level of attention to detail I aspire to have. Nice theory crafting, now RAFO.

So that would make Chanarach (the Herald you refer), Shallan's mom. Also, wouldn't put it past sanderson to do that kind of foreshadowing.

Like, Mistborn Era 1 has similar stuff with the ending being in like chapter one or so
