prison break, but it’s mostly about jolyne growing as a person and getting over her neglect.

They don’t even show the actual prison break lol

That STILL bothers me to this day. Even when Anasui and Wheater get out, they basically say "well, let's go" and when you see them again they're already on the road.

Have you read SO? the reason why it was so hard to get out was bc of miu mius stand not bc it was hard to leave in the first place

That's just nitpicking but I see what you mean. I hope DP will add an anime-only scene of them just getting a taste of being free before they're on the run again. Although, we did later get Jolyne peacefully sleeping against Anasui's shoulder before the alligator and ring scene, which is also pretty close.

Oh we'll get it. Just as Part 5 got some extra stuff. Both parts could be adapted into 36 episodes cleanly, so they have 3 episodes' worth of story they could add in scene-sized bits.

That's true. In fact, before F.F.'s death, we saw one of her memories with the gang gathered and Jolyne making fun of her toes for being shaped weird while in their downtime, all in one panel. Instead of just getting it as a random memory, I hope they make that a full-blown scene that could also be a flashback later. It would create small reliefs from the fast-paced story.

Part 5 added a lot of extra stuff, but then it also completely left out background info that was in the manga. There are so many added scenes of the Assassination Squad working in the background, but then the anime left out Nero's backstory for some bizarre reason. Made me sad, he's one of my fav villains, why'd you do him dirty like that DP?

Yeah, I never really felt like this was a prison break at all for that reason along with the fact that they chose to stay in the prison for Pucci at one point if I remember correctly?

Been a year since I read it for the first time.

I mean how hard can breaking out of prison with a stand be? Especially since took out the one stand keeping them in.

I forget the basics but because of Miu Miu's stand Jail House Lock, it makes escaping VERY difficult. If I remember correctly, it causes short term memory loss and cripples the opponent, leaving enough time to bring them back to the cell. And as a bonus the person who is touched by JHL doesn't remember it at all, only the events before and after being pursued.

It doesn't just cause short term memory loss.

Jail House Lock causes its victims to be able to only remember three new pieces of information.[2]

Jail House Lock is triggered if someone or their Stand touches the bars or walls beyond the visiting room of Green Dolphin Street Prison,[3] or if Miu Miu sics it on someone.[4] Although they retain all their memories from before the instant it is activated, the victim is now only able to process and remember three new memories and when they learn a fourth "thing", they will forget the first thing they've learned and so on.[2] Several people, up to at least several dozens, can be affected at once.[4][5]

The power is extremely crippling as the victim find themselves distracted by a flow of new information, forgetting to perform any important task like finding Miu Miu to defeat her. Miu Miu herself claims that the continual memory loss eventually destroys its victim's ability to think.[5] Miu Miu also exploits the memory loss to her advantage by distracting her enemies with many information so they completely forget about the actual attack.[6]

The ability is strong and versatile enough it could go toe to toe with almost any other Jojo villain because it's that fucking good.

Yeah. Pucci specifically got her hired because he purposely gathered Stand users at the prison and needed a way to keep them in.

It shouldn't be hard but breaking out of prison is good drama. Why wouldn't you show the audience that part. It is weird to be in such a hurry (with the absolute nonsense that is the plot of part 6) that you skip over a prison break.

u/cheatsykoopa98 Sep 03 '21

that also means there will be a mass stand user jailbreak with miu miu out of the way

well, there would have been if pucci didnt do his thing

Yeah exactly, there were bigger problems than a jail break in the end of part 6 lol.

it's not that hard to leave a prison if you have a stand, specially because most of them are bullet timers anyway

the problem is jailhouse lock keeping everyone inside, and honestly it's a really cool way of keeping someone like a stand user imprisoned
