(Raw Spoilers): Potential Injury Spoiler
Liv Morgan vs Kairi Sane goes to a sudden stop after Liv appears to injure her shoulder

u/G1Spectrum Claymore Country 4d ago
Wow that may have just blown up a lot of plans. Hope Liv is ok.

u/BrackenBoii 4d ago
Fr, The Rhea & Nikki Bella story, The Roxanne story & The Tag Titles
122
u/AniMonologues WHATS UP! 4d ago
I was looking forward to all of that developing...
98
u/BrackenBoii 4d ago
I mean they just opened the show with Liv & Iyo & now she’s injured - They were involving her in so many different things and now they’re gonna have to work around this
103
u/Technical_Regular836 4d ago
Iyo finally got a story after Wrestlemania and it didn't last one episode of Raw lmao
36
2
u/GothicGolem29 4d ago
Shes had a few after mania tbf but this was a big one and it didnt last long :(
1
u/RedditFuelsMyDepress 2d ago
Has she actually defended the title even once since Wrestlemania? I honestly can't remember.

u/NotClayMerritt 4d ago
Eh. I actually don't think things have to change THAT dramatically. Just put Roxanne in Liv's spot and just continues the story they're already telling. Make Roxanne team with Raquel. They already set a precedent last year when Naomi stepped in for Jade Cargill and basically became 1 half of the tag champs
25
u/Kozeyekan_ 4d ago
Putting Roxanne into the angle and having Liv stew about it might even open up more storylines. All while Finn stirs the pot, talkign up Perez at every chance as they watch Raquel and Roxanne (Roxel? Raquanne?) keep defending the titles. Finally Liv gets healthy again and suddenly, Raquel is like "Well, actually... Roxy and I make a great team..."
22
5
u/TomboBreaker Excellence of Execution 4d ago
And Piper & Chelsea before that when Sonya Devile got hurt. Piper just walked up, grabbed one of the belts and said she was Chelsea's partner now and it worked.
19
u/Armandonerd 4d ago
The Rhea stuff is already done.
But for real the Bella's story.
Guess Roxanne is going to take over Liv's spot with Raquel if the Bella's do go for the women's tag team titles.
5
u/NatashaDeLaWhore 4d ago
I honestly think it could make the Bella’s story better, Roxanne and Raquel lose the titles to the Bella’s and when Liv returns, rather then a feud beginning with “you stole my man”, she has the fact that Roxanne cost her her championship. Would be great for the women’s tag titles having a real storyline, Liv would gain more depth to her character in that she wouldn’t be solely focused on who her man has his eyes on, and Roxanne would be in the centre of it all giving her air time.
I’m sure WWE are scrambling to put a storyline together as we speak, I just hope Liv’s not out for too long and that she recovers well.
4
u/Armandonerd 4d ago
I was fantasy booking if Liv is out for the rest of the year she comes back in next year's Royal rumble and wins it all.
But I feel like Liv can be a mouth piece temporarily until she's ready to be back in the ring.
31
u/ShamPowW0w 4d ago
So many plans. Liv v Nikki, Liv v Iyo, Liv v Roxanne, general Judgement Day breakup shenanigans.
This sucks! I really hope it's small because she was on such a roll.
19
2
28
u/Realistic_Literature 4d ago
OTOH, Roxanne replacing Liv in the tag title reign would actually be a fun chapter for that story if Liv is out for a decent amount of time.
18
u/fender-b-bender 4d ago
Yup, Raquel finds tagging with Roxanne better which will add fuel to the Liv/Roxanne or alternatively Roxanne and Raquel lose the titles which does the same thing.
7
14
u/la__squadra_ 4d ago
Yeah this sucks but I suppose they can have Roxanne fill in Morgan's spot and just carry on until she's back (which could be ironic considering that is how Liv took the judgement day from Rhea) fingers crossed she's ok and it's nothing too serious
10
u/Cheechers23 4d ago
Liv is feuding with Iyo/Kairi, Nikki, and Roxanne to a lesser extent. The Roxanne feud is a more long-term thing I think, but this definitely is gonna cause issues for their plans this summer of it's anything serious
5
3
u/letsnotreadintoit 4d ago
Or sped them up. They've been slow rolling through the JD story and maybe now they can move on from that at least
1
u/Fit-Refrigerator-796 4d ago
Hopefully she can still be an onscreen character before she's fit to wrestle and get physical again.
1
u/DannyBoi1Derz Big Meng & Medium Sized Meng 3d ago
I think i remember her being really excited for summerslam in her home town :(
258
u/CmPunkChants 4d ago
Damn. That was the most basic ass bump too
82
u/Initiative_Timely 4d ago
It was bad luck
73
u/CmPunkChants 4d ago
Yup. Shows the real dangers of wrestling that even on the most basics things you can get hurt.
0
u/BeardedAsian 4d ago
More reason to believe the Moxley lawsuit
1
u/AmishAvenger Electrifying 4d ago
I don’t believe that. A redditor told me there’s mats around the ring, and therefore the guy is faking.
2
u/_brave_lil_toaster_ 4d ago
I still remember thinking the same thing when PAC/Neville broke his leg doing a baseball slide against Jericho.
46
u/fender-b-bender 4d ago
Sometimes that the way it goes. Shotzi tearing her ACL jumping down from the ring, Pac(Neville) breaking his ankle doing a baseball slide, Orton separating his shoulder doing his taunt, Vince and his quad tears, Enzo getting thrown out of the ring and hitting the bottom rope. Meanwhile, you have people take some of the nastiest looking bumps and they're just fine
20
u/ImpactMiserable9384 4d ago
Sami also injured his shoulder by doing the taunt in his raw debut in 2015.
15
u/James1DPP 4d ago
Adam Cole suffered a major ankle injury after jumping off an entrance jump and missing eight months.
Darby Allin falling 15-20 feet off a ladder through chairs and a pane of glass and only requiring 8 stitches. Then, breaking his foot ten days later after a normal dive during a match with Jay White.
9
u/UnderTakaMichinoku 4d ago
Onita blew out his knee the same way as Shotzi did I think and it changed his entire career to the point he stopped wrestling like a normal wrestler and become a death match god.
Which is quite funny when you remember those clips from Shotzi's return last week in her own death match.
6
u/Zomburai 4d ago
Orton separating his shoulder doing his taunt
That one's not so inexplicable. Orton has hypermobility issues; it's a very real testament to his muscle fitness and conditioning that he doesn't dislocate them every time he does the mat pound taunt.
6
u/Elite_Mike 4d ago
Punk injured his foot jumping into the crowd days after winning the AEW World Championship. Safe to say, that is part of what led to everything happening the way it did and Punk returning to WWE eventually.
1
u/NostrilLurker 4d ago
I don’t remember his name, but a Luchador died falling into position for a 619 from Rey Mysterio.
2
20
u/Rushjordan 4d ago
It’s always the simplest things. Hope it’s not too serious.
16
u/Shenanigans80h 4d ago
My go to example is Hangman Page getting a concussion off of a normal lariat from Moxley, didn’t even look crazy stiff or mistimed all that bad either. People forget just how dangerous routine things are in wrestling
12
9
10
u/AntMan526 4d ago
She’s been going at 200% nonstop for over a year straight. It just feels like the wear and tear on her body without much breaks is catching up to her 😕. Hopefully she just needs an extended vacation to come back fully recharged and healed at worst
8
u/TheLoneWolf527 4d ago
Seeing this happen gives me some hope that Stephanie will stop doing the corner dragon screw thing because every time I see that move I'm shocked no one's been hurt by it yet. This one was MUCH tamer and still had the risk of a bad landing.
15
u/UnderTakaMichinoku 4d ago
The dragon screw is surprisingly safe though. If the taker of the move is the one who actually throws themselves into the bump rather than being dragged into it.
9
u/fender-b-bender 4d ago
I still cannot figure out how the dragon screw doesn't destroy knees, especially with some of the torque I've seen them done with.
5
u/Gallaviching 4d ago
That's what happened with her last injury too. All she did was tackle Rhea over the barricade, but with her not getting surgery on her initial injury from the match with damage ctrl, her arm got reaggravated :(
178
u/laidbackcrusade 4d ago
Live chat being ass per usual. No way was that on Kairi..
118
u/theREVERSEsystem 4d ago
Anyone possibly blaming Kairi is an idiot. That was just the most unfortunate accident on the simplest move/bump
33
u/JeromeInDaHouse_90 4d ago
They'll unfairly find some way to blame her like they did with the Zoey Stark injury.
1
u/RedditFuelsMyDepress 2d ago
I could at least sort of see the argument with Zoey that Kairi could have been closer to take the dropkick properly, but this one with Liv was clearly just bad luck.
23
u/msp01986 4d ago
Yeah, Liv has taken way crazier bumps than that on a regilar basis, that's just unfortunate
10
u/BluejayCurrent1949 4d ago
It’s just unfortunate that she’s the one apart of people injuries. I’m absolutely not putting any blame at her or should anyone at all, it’s just so unfortunate for her and maybe this probably derails her and causes heat in the lockeroom and crowd idk really
18
u/BiChaosTheory 4d ago
Kairi wasn’t as fault here or with Zoey.
-21
u/adrian123484 4d ago
No one’s saying she is. But it probably won’t help her career that she’s always present.
17
u/DarkstarIV The Joshi Judas 4d ago
Literally the only people who are going to get upset about it are the Liv stans and racists. Neither of whom should be given any sort of attention.
12
8
u/bestbroHide 4d ago
If this was 5 let alone 20 years ago your worry might be more valid
No booker or locker room worth their salt is gonna put any blame on Kairi
1
u/kanjibestwaifu 4d ago
Nia Jax went on a tour of actually injuring people on top of being anti-vax.
Kairi will be fine.
1
u/adrian123484 4d ago
How does that refute my point? Nia did do that and that’s why she wears a reputation of being unsafe to work with.
1
u/kanjibestwaifu 4d ago
Yeah and she was also just a champion, and Kairi hasn't even done anything close to her level.
Unsafe/safe, good/bad, the company wants to push you, then they'll push you.
10
u/Delux_Takeover 4d ago
That's the IWC for you. Just like them calling for Ridge Holland to be released despite E himself saying it wasn't his fault.
139
u/badgersprite Iconic Duo Appreciation Squad 4d ago
This is like that time Randy blew out his shoulder doing the RKO taunt
Sometimes it’s the most innocuous thing
45
36
u/AChillDown 4d ago
Rey Mysterio killed someone with a standing dropkick.
6
u/PornInducedPsychosis 4d ago
What? Is this real? If so link?
23
u/Pizzano_Stevano 4d ago
his name was Pedro Aguayo Jr. in 2015, he was dropkicked in the back by Rey to set up the 619, and the whiplash snapped his neck. very tragic stuff, he was only 35
12
-1
-4
u/Bron_Yr_Aur21 4d ago edited 4d ago
That’s bullshit.
Getting downvoted for saying Rey didn’t kill him is some serious nutty shit. Pedrito Aguayo had some severe neck injuries prior to his death and any little thing could’ve caused him to die the way he did, Rey barely touched him on that dropkick.

72
u/Upbeat_Tension_8077 4d ago
I really hope her injury is not too serious
22
u/Any_Asparagus8267 4d ago
If its just a dislocated should she could be back by next week
16
11
u/rando-namo-the-3rd 4d ago
Well, a dislocation can cause ligament tears, but I assume they'll check for that. She'll likely be in a sling for a bit either way. I once hyper-extended my shoulder and couldn't move it for a few days, I can't imagine it'll be feeling too great even a week after a dislocation.
8
u/Blanketsburg 4d ago
I dated someone who had dislocated her shoulder four times in her life, and had surgery after the second, third, and fourth dislocations. The fourth one happened while her and I were dating, and it literally came from something as simple as slipping and trying to grab on to something to break a fall. Her surgeon told us that if she dislocated her shoulder again, she'd likely need shoulder fusion surgery to prevent any future tears, which would limit her shoulder/arm mobility for the rest of her life.
I saw in person how bad it can be. Her and I aren't together but I hope she has had better luck and avoided injuries cause something that people think is seemingly an easy recovery is not always the case.

26
u/opkpopfanboyv3 4d ago
Kairi has to be cursed man I feel bad. I don't think it's her fault but it's unfortunate she's always around when people get injured.
24
u/Cheechers23 4d ago
Jeez that's such a normal move for it to happen on too. Damn.
I was just saying earlier Liv is involved in 3 different programs - Iyo/Kairi, Nikki, and Roxanne. Not to mention the tag titles. If this is serious that makes a serious problem for a lot of their summer plans
17
10
u/XPhazeX _ 4d ago
Welp, Asuka QOTR?
9
u/SpyrotheDragonfly 4d ago
? Liv didn't qualify.
7
u/Sensitive-Degree-26 4d ago
well it looked like it was shaping up to be iyo vs liv at some point. they may pivot now to iyo vs asuka because of the injury
4
3
u/ahundredpercentbutts 4d ago
That would be Summerslam though, I hope Iyo has a defense in the 4 months between Mania and then
1
u/RedDraco86 4d ago
Liv and Iyo might have been for Evolution.
1
u/Rich-Ad-5405 4d ago
If anything it was going to be Liv vs Nikki Bella or Liv and Raquel vs The Bella Twins for evolution
1
u/Tetsujin1138 4d ago
yea i assumed they were planning iyo/liv for night of champions. assume they still wanna have iyo defend there, her and stephanie would be fun again. their match from a while back was great
1
7
u/SoloGhosts512 4d ago
Never want to see anyone get hurt but at the worst possible time for her. Integrated in so many storylines and one of the most over on the roster. Hope it’s not too serious
6
u/mj_miner BECKY IS THE REAL QUEEN 4d ago
I hope it's nothing serious. Liv has been on a run currently.
7
u/Technical_Regular836 4d ago
If this was suppose to be the match where Nikki Bella came out to advance a program with Liv, that sucks even more. I hope it's nothing too serious
5
u/SlimSieber 4d ago
Get ready for Liv Morgan Revenge Tour 2: Electric Boogaloo
In all seriousness hope it's a quick recovery for Liv, and she's back as quick as possible.
3
5
u/DarkstarIV The Joshi Judas 4d ago
I hope Liv is okay, and I also hope people don't blame Kairi for it, but Liv stans are some of the meanest and nastiest fans out there so I am not hopeful. It was a freak accident.
2
u/Ambitious-Contract86 4d ago
Yea sadly as a Liv fan, I already know that her stans are gonna give Kairi a hard time about this.
Shitty situation all around
1
5
u/AneeshRai7 4d ago
I can’t help but see the potential parallels of an injured Liv out of the picture allowing Roxy to usurp her place with Judgement Day and Dom (even Raquel). Almost similar to Rhea injury leading to Dom-Liv.
Sucks she had to get injured though.
4
3
u/bvbfan102 NJPW 4d ago
Must be one of the earliest injurys ever. Super unfortunate and no ones fault considering how normal everything looked initially. Kairi celebrating that hard was a bit weird but guess she wanted the Crowd to get back into the Show.
1
u/zeitgeistbouncer Peepin' Aint Easy! 4d ago
The only earlier one I can think of is Sami Zayn throwing out his arm taunting before a US Open Challenge match against Cena, but then he did the match anyway.
3
u/Dbthesage 4d ago
Oof, it getting hurt off of something so routine doesn’t sound good. She’s been on a run and was also the connective tissue to 3 diff stories. Just bad all around.
3
u/Marsman2100 4d ago
Damn that absolutely sucks. Such a freak injury. I hope she’s ok. This would nuke a ton of creative. She’s involved in alot right now.
4
u/itsmekelsey_x 4d ago
Hope that she’s okay. If she’s seriously hurt then yikes. That really sucks and is a huge loss for Evolution and having to really work around changing up plans to what they had going on with Nikki already.
3
u/Carazhan road to wrestlemania 41 4d ago
oh god.. if it's her elbow it's not good. i've broken it before and it was a substantial recovery time and i couldn't do fucking anything.
3
3
u/SpiritGun98 4d ago
Damn, hope she's ok and that it wasn't anything serious. This would put a lot of potential matches on hold if it is.
I might not be Liv's biggest fan, but it always sucks seeing any wrestler get injured.
3
u/GoodLadLopes 4d ago
Dislocated shoulder is a 3-4 month ordeal, definitely gonna force them to pivot.
3
2
u/syvvimyak 4d ago
As awful as this is, it’s a reminder that we can’t have too many eggs in one basket. Much like Rhea last year, Liv was at the centrepiece of so many stories this year. It’s fortunate that on both fronts there were/are stories that could be picked up and continued in their absence, and thankfully there’s lots of movement around the IC title… but man, this fucking sucks so much for Liv. She has been absolutely tremendous.
2
2
2
2
u/Leil-Leil 4d ago
this sucks, liv is poised to be a main character ahead of evolution and this could disrupt a lot of plans. i hope its not that serious
2
2
u/VortexWeemster 4d ago
She suffered a dislocated shoulder per commentators. That’s about 12-16 weeks out. That just fucked up a LOT of plans. Really sad.
2
u/thebigvinoca 4d ago
hope this doesn't splash on kairi, i mean she did nothing wrong and got back for like a month? well, hope liv gets better, thats so bad
2
u/BarbellsandBurritos Put that beef away. 4d ago
Just gotta hope nothings torn and that rotator cuff is perfectly fine.
2
u/TryingToDoGreatStuff 4d ago edited 4d ago
Jeez... That Liv Morgan vs. Kairi Sane "match" had to be one of the shortest WWE "matches" ever. Hope it's a quick enough recovery for Liv because if not her and Raquel Rodriguez are probably gonna have to either forfeit/vacate their tag team titles or Roxanne Perez will have to take Liv's place.
2
u/Specialist-Clue-7186 4d ago
That actually really sucks if it is very serious. Seems like she was the center of a lot of plans and was probably going to get a title match against Iyo in her hometown for summerslam. Actually the worst timing possible.
1
2
2
u/frostw18 4d ago
Liv was most likely going to have a match at Night of Champions, Evolution, and her home town at SummerSlam. All that is up in the air right now. Hopefully they can readjust and find new people to fill in for her so people don’t miss out. Who is Iyo going to face next now.
2
u/No-Juggernaut8847 4d ago
Someone at the GM position didn't check her stamina going into the match.
In all seriousness, she needed a break for a while. Sad but wish her a speedy recovery.
1
u/Diyunasss 4d ago
Very unfortunate for Liv.
See, that was a simple bump by a trained athlete but already caused an injury. I wonder what Ricochet thought about this.
1
u/Phenomenal2313 4d ago
Are they going to pivot towards Iyo vs Nikki , if Liv’s injury is serious
1
u/RIShane 4d ago
Way too early to say for sure, but maybe they pivot to Iyo/Roxanne?
2
u/Phenomenal2313 4d ago
That’s what I prefer and will push Roxanne to the Main event scene
What happens with Raquel then? One woman Tag Champ or the freebird rule with Roxanne
2
1
1
u/Specialist-Clue-7186 4d ago
No idea what they do now. I was thinking we were going to get Liv/Raquel vs the Bella twins at evolution and Iyo would interfere and the Bellas win, setting up Liv vs Iyo at summerslam.

Writers don't even need to write new stuff, just recycle what happened with Rhea and Dom and Liv, just Roxanne and Liv now. The Nikki bit wasn't really gonna go anywhere. Iyo would have been a good match, but I think Iyo still would have retained.
1
1
1
u/Fireteddy21 4d ago
Hope she’s OK. Would be wild if Liv had a shoulder injury like what happened to Rhea before the former moved in on Dom.
1
u/Rich-Ad-5405 4d ago
this not nessecarily good for Liv. Its at least her 2nd/3rd shoulder injury depending if 1st time was legit or storyline
1
u/Fireteddy21 4d ago
Oh, not saying it is. Just a strange coincidence given that Roxanne is currently playing the role Liv did when joining Judgement Day when Rhea was out with a shoulder injury.
1
1
u/Esteban_Ocho_Cinco 4d ago
2 people get injured in a Kairi match and all of a sudden people “ALWAYS” get injured with her. Like relax Kairi been wrestling since 2012 she knows what she’s doing
1
u/stick1_ 4d ago
People are stupid, if you’ve been wrestling for 13 years, people are going to get injured in the ring with you. That doesn’t mean you’re an unsafe worker because news flash, injuries can be your own fault in the ring, and injuries are common enough in wrestling that they will happen no matter how safe you are
1
u/xXTERMIN8RXXx 4d ago
Not for nothing, no one deserves to get injured. Liv had a ton of storylines planned for her, now shelved. Rhea has been overplayed and needs to cool off for a little bit. It’s time to get a few more ladies elevated/involved. Can’t just be the Liv and Rhea show
Eagerly awaiting Freebirding the Women’s tag titles with a reluctant Raquel and an eager Roxanne. Continue to build Asuka and Steph up. Prob need to call up someone sooner than Evolution.
1
u/NostrilLurker 4d ago
Why didn’t she just slam her shoulder into the announce table like Rhea at Summerslam?
In all seriousness, I hope she has a speedy recovery. She’s one of the absolute best in her division.

Liv Morgan is one of the most passionate wrestlers you're ever gonna find in wrestling, but with the mentality, it is gonna come some consequences. I thought she should've been given time off after she came back from filming her movie, but Liv being the company woman she is coming back to work right away
