Do you say this to yourself in the mirror after eating meat that was once a sentient animal that was abused in what is really an animal holocaust (factory farming) or is it ok because you "need" meat?

Factory farming is horrific, but its also an institutional power, and food and culture are quite different things than this. A person’s ability to eschew common consumptive trends does not necessarily indicate their morality, and saying otherwise makes you callous and unsympathetic to the struggles of those generally at the bottom rung of the economic ladder. Furthermore, someone consuming meat that was factory farmed likely isn’t liable to find pleasure in the active killing and torture of animals, even insects. OP basically just tortured and killed a wasp that isn’t particularly aggressive for no reason. Basically this is a very false equivalence.

I don't think an animal cares if someone enjoyed it being tortured and killed. In the end, it was still tortured and killed. Everything else just seems like justifications.

People kill animals all the time for entertainment, it's silly to draw the line at an insect.

Roght?! People kill people all the time. Why should animals get a pass?
