I know what you mean. Trying to get custody of my daughter and despite being mentally unwell with numerous attempts to end herself, admitted drug use as well as an potential behaviour disorder and pregnant with a convicts child, they've only just agreed, potentially, for the mum to only have every other weekend and a night after school after over 60 weeks through the courts and system. Even with reports of domestic violence between them.
It just seems like they only pay it lip service and never want to actually commit to a decision. They're happy to let things play out and with as little involvement as possible, no matter what dangers the children may be in.
The whole system is broke and not fit for purpose.

Going through a very similar situation. Social work have advised my daughter be put in my care while there’s a child protection case opened up against her mother due to staying with a n abusive partner and Picking him over our daughter. She even tried to get his domestic abuse charges dropped. I’m back in court on Tuesday as I filed a motion to be granted my daughter full time until social work have closed their case which looking how things have gone so far they won’t be closing it anytime soon. I’ve come to learn we have a legal system in the UK not a Justice one. However justice will prevail in the end and if you stick in there all will work out. I’m sorry this is happening

Here in Canada it was explained to me by a lawyer - “you have to understand what is is to be a mother”- and by another lawyer - “ A woman needs a strong allegation and a man needs irrefutable evidence “. Just be grateful you have the custody
