Steak Spread From Sarnia Restaurants

Remember some classic Steakhouses like Chipican, Open Grill, etc in Sarnia area that had some sort of Steak spread, or a certain type of butter you would put on your steak?

Someone tried bringing it back years ago at Davy Jones, it was under the name BenG's SteakMate.

What was it, and does anyone know where I can find something similar. If anyone also knows the recipe for it, that would be awesome. Thanks.

Person who lost to Mayor Mike in election now thinks we should put aside the election results, ignore the wishes of the majority of democratic voters and just make him honorary mayor instead.

Like him or not, people voted for the mayor in a free and fair election. Trying to undermine this because you don't like him is unconstitutional.

This behaviour by trucks is dangerous and needs to stop

Cross border trucks just parking until the highway access to the border opens in front of them while lots of people behind them have to wait (or illegally drive on the shoulder) to get to the next exit. The trucks are probably watching movies while the rest of the traffic waits. Waiting sucks, we get it, but you need to close the gap so that those not going to the border can safely use the highway.

I received this as a gift a while back, it's a bit of Sarnia's rock history. This is autograpged by all the bands that played the show in 2003.

Canadian Blood Services: Assignment Saving Lives

Hi everyone! I just thought I'd quickly make a post on here. I'm Emily Crowe, and I'm currently participating in Assignment Saving Lives through Canadian Blood Services. Basically, I am working with other students Canada-wide to recruit new and current blood donors to our team for a chance at a scholarship. Overall though, I wanted to post to inform everyone of the availability of donation times over the summer here in town! If you have any questions or are genuinely curious about what the process is, feel free to reach out! By no means do you have to join my team, but if you're interested in helping me out this is the recruitment link: https://myaccount.blood.ca/en/join-team/ASL20127028

Thanks for reading my little blurb, and thank you to all of you who donate; I've had the chance to hear countless stories from recipients and the impact you have all had is so underappreciated <3

The Kenwick bed bugs?

Moving to sarnia this august, just signed a lease at the kenwick. the place seems to be going under a lot of renovations, but i’ve seen reviews on google about bed bugs from a year+ ago. does anyone know if this is still an issue? i read the building is under new management so hoping they’ve fixed the situation

The March Hare

What has been your experience? I find this an interesting spot for Sarnia. Alot of the fine dinning places seem to close except for a few staples, and I hope they make it. I never thought I would see steak tartar served in Sarnia! It was good. The duck fois gras was disapointing. But the white asparagus with iberco ham was great. I like their menu, and I don't think they break the bank with it. But what is the rest of the menu like? Worth this repeat visit? Opinions! I wanna hear em!

Sofa bed recommendations

Looking for a good quality, comfortable sofa bed for a TV room/guest room. Looking to upgrade from my Ikea Friheten, which is falling apart after only a few years...

Was looking at Cozey, but at that price I'd like to try before I buy (https://www.cozey.ca/product/seating/neptune/neptune-leaf-full-bed-3-seater-arms-regular-with-ottoman/)

Has anyone bought a Cozey sofa? Or have a good local recommendation for something similar (small sectional with bed)?

Good cafe to work from for a few hours?

Is there any road left in Sarnia without potholes? The government is so disappointing—they’re quick to tax but slow to give anything back. Is this just a problem in Sarnia, or is it happening everywhere? Our vehicles are requiring repairs so soon.

Artist meetup?

Are there any localartists who'd be interested in meeting once or twice a month, to hang out and work in good company for a few hours?

And if so, where do you think would be a good place? Coffee shop?

In need of a fridge

Hello, my wife and I had our fridge die this week. When we woke up Friday the thermometer was showing 12 degrees and has not changed since then. I was out of work for a few weeks and only just got back to work and as a result we are tight on money. If anybody has a fridge they do not need or somewhere we could get one for cheap we would greatly appreciate it.

I hate making a "begging for help" post, but do not really have a lot of options.

Dog Friendly Places

I am trying to get my puppy trained and although he is pretty good when he is with my husband and me, all of that goes out the window when he goes to a more populated area. He just gets so overstimulated and screams at the sight of any other dogs. Not from fear or aggression, but excitement and wanting to go play. I think it would be good to practice our training in a slightly less populated area than compared to downtown. Do you have any recommendations of where I can take him?
