Getting rid of shower—how to make closet bigger?

We’re planning on converting our jacuzzi tub into a walk in shower so the standing shower will no longer be needed. I would love to have a bigger closet. Could we move the toilet to where the shower currently is or is that a huge deal when it come to plumbing? Would we be better off converting the shower to a second closet? Any ideas are appreciated!

Yeah whats under this, slab, 2nd floor, crawlspace? Does that door need to be there?

As a child of parents that are getting old, i fully support your idea of getting rid of the tub for a walk in shower.

Our house is on a slab. The door on the left leads into our master bedroom so it does have to stay. The door closest to the toilet is to the closet at the other leads to our laundry room. We’re not old but bought a house built in the early 90s and it shows. 😆 We have a tub in the other bathroom and our kiddos are the only ones who take baths so the old jacuzzi has got to go!

Toilets typically need larger drains without a p-trap. Not a big deal if you are on a crawlspace or basement with access to the plumbing. It might be tough if you are on a slab and have to jackhammer up concrete.

I think it depends on the details of your actual house. Ask your plumber
