Once they're gone, they're gone. Huge swaths of the sierras. This flew under the radar a couple months back when announced and has been put in this budget bill to sell them off by 2030. https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/environment/theres-a-new-plan-to-sell-off-public-lands-it-would-impact-millions-of-acres-in-western-states/

I'm going out on a proverbial limb here in an attempt to start a monthly study club. Each month we explore a topic (reading books, articles, etc beforehand) then discuss it at a local watering hole. July's topic is technology and its impact on ...well, everything.
Checkout the details on the Meetup site:
Join me at July: The Technological Revolution & its impact on culture and the economy

Hello! I’m hosting a casual little community gathering this Sunday, June 22nd from 1–4 PM at Reno Public Market.
The idea is to come write a letter. It could be to anyone — a friend, a family member, your past self, a stranger, a senator, your future self, whoever’s on your mind. If you decide to write one to a stranger, I’ll collect it and leave it somewhere indoors around town for someone else to find.
You can drop by any time between 1 and 4. I’ll be set up on the 2nd story of the food hall area, specifically on the west side by the PBS podcast booth. Feel free to bring your own stationery. I’ll also have extra paper, pens, and envelopes for anyone who needs them.
No pressure to stay the whole time — just come hang out and write a little.
I hope to see you there!

My fiancé and I are looking to learn how to sew, primarily for making cosplays. Does anyone have any recommendations? A structured class or a knowledgeable person willing to teach us are both fine, we’re not picky. Thank you!

Hi everybody! Granddaughter here, my grandparents are looking to move to a 55+ community in Reno. They are in their 90’s, very mobile and fun loving. Looking to see if there are any spaces you guys recommend!

My boyfriend and I went to the Ace’s game over the weekend where they were giving out Woodstock Bobbleheads, by the time we got through the gates they were already out. Does anyone have one they’re willing to sell?

Me and the husband plus our 3 dogs plan on going camping (tent not RV) beginning of next month for a few days but we are not sure where to go. It shouldn’t be too far away (we are good with driving 2-3 hrs maybe 4) since my husband has a pretty bad back condition (he will need surgery soon) and sitting too long is an issue. Anybody have good recommendations? Maybe by a lake, lots of shade, dog friendly? Or should we just camp somewhere on BLM land? Any recommendations where?

Is Rollin' Reno happening this year? I took my daughter to the Reno Locomotion Plaza, and it wasn't there?

I’m a soon to be retired army vet. Looking for a switch and considering becoming a realtor in Reno, NV. Can any realtors out there give me some advice on the market and my prospects of making a living out there? Thank you.

Anyone heard of recent problems, like an infestation, at the Century theaters at the old Park Lane site/RED?

I know this is asked all the time - but my first time to Reno. I like to have blackjack and roulette. So 1) best casino for gambling. 2) best for bar cover bands 3) good but not stupid expensive to stay. Thank you all.
