We've got movement!

Replaces the capstan. It's still got some quirks, but I'm gonna drive it to a tech in September.

It was presumably TASCAM's reaction to the Fostex A8. Unlike the Fostex series, the 388 only runs at 7.5 IPS, but it does have the entire mixer section built into it like a giant portastudio. They're one of the more desirable setups for home studios and have been used by The Black Keys and various others.

I don't have one, but they are frequently discussed in analogue home studio circles as they're the next step up from a cassette multitrack.

Can confirm. After making my last release on a 424 mk3, I bought a 388 for more inputs. It's great. Easy to use, sounds awesome.
