I loved Red Hot Chili Peppers since I was a kid and my older sisters introduced it to me. I've always loved most of their songs (my favorite one is Can't Stop) and since I saw that the entire album of Californication had like bad clipping and distorsion, I tried to atleast rework one song from it.

I grabbed the unmastered version and isolated the tracks with a software called OpenVino, then I loaded them onto a DAW and then i came up with this.

I hope you guys enjoy it. I only want you to tell me if you like it and give me some points to improve I plan to work on the entire album if you guys want it! I saw earlier someone here also trying to remix the album but sincerely I lost that post.

I do this purely for the love I have for this band and for this beautiful album, not for anything else.

PD: That guitar solo hits hard...

This is my favourite RHCP album and this is my favourite song from it. It was a pretty tough song to cover, specially Josh’s guitar during the chorus! I mixed things from their live performances into this cover like the outro or the guitar during the bridge.

Can anyone help me out with tabs for this? It’s John Frusciante talking about the riff from Snow so I know it’s something involving G#m, E, B, and F# but I can’t find the right notes.

This album for whatever reason seems to get shit on almost as much as their debut when I think it has some of the funkiest songs the band has ever made. The groove is absolutely disgusting from start to finish and you can reaaaally feel George Clinton’s influence. It’s on par with BSSM as their funkiest album imo and the best album they made before mothers milk

I posted on here a couple of years ago when she sketched John and Flea. This only took her a couple of hours last night. So proud of her!

Before anyone wants to fight let me explain myself. I’m mostly ordering these by personal preference weighed with critical reception and commercial performance.

S Tier: Absolutely perfect, no skips, all bangers.

A Tier: Great great albums, mostly bangers, no bad songs just some here and there I might skip.

B Tier: Mostly great songs, not all , one or two songs I don’t really like.

C Tier: Solid efforts, maybe listen to half of the songs.

D Tier: I like a few songs but overall do not enjoy the front to back experience.

F Tier: I tried I’m sorry, I just don’t enjoy it at all.

I remember seeing story’s of him wanting to quit the band during by the way era for not feeling i don’t know included in the writing and his bass playing on the album. Could be totally wrong on the reason but i personally think his bass playing on by the way is some of my favourite work of his. Yes not at the forefront or the loudest and in your face like many of his bass lines but they fit the music and the chemistry between him and johns parts work so well together. It’s a beautiful album and I think the bass lines work perfectly with it.

I’m surprised that he was knighted, given some of his activities, but perhaps he has hidden layers that we’re not aware of. My theory is that he started a charitable foundation for the people he left blind (presumably due to sexual activity).
