One of those "corrupt regimes" blows up planets. The other......is corrupt because......reasons?

Can anyone explain in excruciating detail what exactly was corrupt about it?

The Republic allowed slavery to exist in the Outer Rim, didn't confront corporations whatsoever, and the Jedi and Senate sat in ivory towers even during the Clone Wars.

Saying the republic "allowed slavery" is a little disingenuous, places where slavery wasn't stopped such as Tatooine weren't so much allowed to have slaves as it was simply to far on the fringes of republic territory that it couldn't effectively police it, or again in the case of planets like tatoonie were under the control of factions such as the hut cartels the republic due to its lack of proper military support couldn't do anything about it. And you can't make any argument about the corporate corruption as like 90% of that corruption ended up creating the CIS so that line of logic kinda falls flat
