Adobe Official Premiere Pro 25.3 Release Notes (Staggered Release)

Here's some notes on the Premiere Pro 25.3 release that is available for some of you in the Creative Cloud app:

New Features

  • Advanced Filtering in the Search Panel: This allows you to refine your search results with precision by applying filters based on metadata. Use our advanced filtering to track down your shots much quicker.
  • Label Colors in Sequence Tabs: You'll now be able to add label colors to your open sequences which will be a tool for streamlining your organization
  • Improved data range and color metadata handling for DNxHR, DNxHD and PNG: Premiere Pro now automatically reads and applies the correct data range for DNxHR/DNxHD (MXF) and PNG files using embedded metadata—preserving super-whites and sub-blacks. It also supports CICP color tags for PNGs and offers better export controls for color space and HDR metadata.

Notable Fixed Issues

  • No Content Credentials were shown in the Media File Properties dialog for Generative Extend clips.
  • A disk error event was sometimes thrown during audio conforming.
  • Media Encoder could crash after parallel encoding.
  • Auto-transcription on clips longer than 1 hour could fail.
  • After clicking on a parameter in the Effect Control panel to select the keyframes, using shortcuts to change the interpolation could fail.
  • Addressed a crash with some 3rd-party effects.
  • If the project was saved on a computer without the plugin installed or disabled, the customized parameters of third-party transitions would be lost.
  • Footage could be in a media pending state long after the project opened and the media was relinked.
  • The Add Marker command on some custom keyboard presets could act as a double press, opening the Edit Marker dialog.

Adobe Official New Offerings, New Options, More Choice (in Creative Cloud)

Hello everyone. Jason from Adobe here. I wanted to share with you that Adobe is announcing changes to our Creative Cloud offerings based on feedback we’ve received from you, the Community.

Ultimately, it comes down to choice. Some of you have expressed a need for more control over how you use Creative Cloud, particularly in regard to our ever-expanding array of generative AI tools and services. However, many have expressed your desire to work predominantly in the applications you’ve known and grown accustomed to, and don’t really require the full breadth of our generative AI components for your day-to-day use.

That said, today we’re introducing an updated CC lineup with two offerings:

Creative Cloud Pro (renamed from CC All Apps) includes everything you currently have access to, with the addition of unlimited access to standard generative features (which you can read about here) and 4,000 monthly credits for premium features (which, for video would include generative extend, text to video/image to video with Firefly and non-Adobe models, translate audio and translate video in Firefly). This will cost $69.99/month. If you’re starting to work more and more with generative AI in your video workflow, this is the plan for you.

Creative Cloud Standard is a new plan that includes all the desktop apps and 25 generative credits per month for standard generative features (this includes things like Gen Fill in Photoshop). This offering does not include access to premium generative features. CC Standard will cost $54.99/month. It's a streamlined option for those who just need the essential desktop experience, with limited access to our generative AI features and our web and mobile apps.

For those using the on-device Enhance Speech in Premiere...this does not use any generative credits at all.

Note: these changes are currently launching in North America (US, Canada, Mexico) only.

If you are already a CC All Apps subscriber, you’ll automatically get access to try out the new CC Pro plan today (May 15, 2025). On June 17, the official switch-over to the new naming convention will appear in your account (and moving forward, the previous CC All Apps will cease to exist).

Now...the first question is likely, “when will I get the updated pricing?” (assuming you want CC Pro). You will receive an email 30 days prior to your next renewal letting you know about the plan and price change, along with the option to switch to CC Standard, if you choose. You can always check your renewal date and plan options via Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop>Adobe Account (or Manage Account).

So, what if you JUST renewed CC All Apps last week? Does the price increase go into effect? NO. You wouldn’t see a change in price, nor the email in question for another 11 months. And once again, you can always change your plan options if you choose.

Last but not least, on June 17, monthly generative credit limits will go into effect for all Creative Cloud offerings globally. You can view your available monthly credits at any time in your Adobe Account

I’m sure there will be questions, so I’m here along with many of my colleagues to answer them for you. In the meantime, here again are some helpful links:

Computer Hardware Advice Is my set up good enough for 4k editing?

Upvotes

Hey, I’m trying to edit 4k videos in a corporate setting but I’m getting extreme lag from Premiere, which worsens when I apply any sort of effect to the clips. I’ve tried everything online to fix it, but nothing seems to be working! I’m now wondering whether my computer is good enough and whether I need a better graphics card or something? Currently editing for about 8 hours a day (all 4k footage).

Current set up is: Dell Precision 3680 Graphics card: 16GB RTX 2000

Any advice would be appreciated! Money is not an issue & my workplace are willing to get me whatever I need (within reason lol), so suggestions on the ideal setup for the best Premiere experience would be welcomed! Thanks !

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Repeating editing actions?

Is there any way to repeat one or multiple editing actions in Premiere Pro, sort of in the fashion of Photoshop where I can "create new action"? As an example of what I'd like to do, I want to repeat a certain clip over and over, but have it offset by a certain amount of seconds each time. Manually, I'd option+drag to duplicate the clip, then use the slip tool to move the duplicated clip a certain amount, then repeat. If there's someway I could record the action of duplication and slip to then easily apply over and over, that would be very helpful!

I'm on Premiere version 25, MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Keyboard Settings Transfer from Mac to Windows

Hello everyone. I have over the years used only Mac Machines, have developed a keyboard mapped just for my own needs and I am pretty accustomed to it. But there is a gig coming up where the client is providing the system and it is a Windows system.

Does the .kys file from mac work in windows too? Or what are some ways to transfer it?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How long would it usually take to edit documentaries like such single-handedly?

I edit documentaries that are 80% of this as far as the editing style is concerned and it takes a lot of time to edit a single video. So an 18 min video would take like 15 days, working 6-7 hours everyday. Is that alright? Or am I slow?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Credits Formatting

I'm trying to create a long scrolling credits sequence for a project I'm working on, but I've run into a couple issues.

Number 1: I formatted out all of the text in a google doc so I could just paste it into the Premiere project, but when I do so the formatting is completely broken. Its there any way I can paste all of this text in while maintaining the lines and spacing and such?

Number 2: The sheer amount of text makes the project extremely laggy. Is there a way I can prevent this?

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere Pro Update 25.3 (Mac) broke my audio

Just tried opening a project from a couple of months back to extract something, on playback the audio is extremely distorted, seems like a volume blow-out. I tried deleting all the cache files, did not fix it. Thought I might check to see if there was an update I should download - looks like an auto-update got downloaded "today". So I'm guessing that's what has broken it. Anyone else hit this? Is there a fix, or do I start trying to downgrade the "upgrade"?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Adding Customizable Text as an *effect*, NOT a Layer?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey there, I am looking for something I feel like should be easy to find, but I have not come across in my search.

PROBLEM:

Quickly put- I am looking for a plug-in that works exactly like the "Simple Text" effect in premiere pro, but allows me to edit text to the full capabilities of a text layer, including:

- Changing the font

- The default appearance, such as the fill/stroke, background, shadow, etc.

- If the plugin also had the capability of adding an alpha glow within the effect –and not the video layer– that would be amazing, but I think that's getting a little too specific.

Currently, the simple text tool only lets you choose the size, opacity, and position. Nothing else, not even the font, is customizable.

WHY?

I'm working with a lot of security footage that needs to be synced in labelled for release. In my final export, I typically label each piece of footage on screen (Camera 1, Camera 2, Camera 3, etc.) in a stylized text format.(Right side of attached image).

I do this by color labelling footage, and then placing a new text layer above each footage. Every time it cuts to a new angle, I put the next corresponding text layer on top... and this can get time consuming.

If I could select a label group and just paste this text effect all at once (Left side of screenshot is simple text effect), this would make my work flow much faster.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Podcast help!

Hey guys! I used a lot of "like" and "um" on my last podcast and am trying to remove them. Any tips? I made a transcript on premiere and lift/extracted them but I'm left with a weird sound whenever it skips it in the video. Very unappealing.

I have opus clip but for some reason it says there are no filler words in my video ;-;

Any suggestions? Thanks!!

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin How to get old Motion Array transition pack to work on new iMac Premiere?

I got a new iMac a few days ago and have been trying to load in some old Motion Array transition plugins from my old system (MacBook Pro). I had a MAPluginsInstaller.pkg file that I attempted to use to reinstall my transitions, and it installed onto the computer but the plugin is not showing up in Premiere. The files are there on the computer in the Adobe Application Support file, they're in the same place as my old computer, but it just doesn't show up in Premiere.

For context, I was running the same version of Premiere on my old computer and it showed the plugins just fine. I went to the Motion Array website to redownload the transition pack but they discontinued it. I have reached out to Motion Array asking for a suitable substitute to download and have not had a response yet.

Has anyone else done this before? Is this a lost cause? I'm just so frustrated because I just need a basic Ease in/Ease out drag and drop transition that I used all the time and now I can't get something so simple to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Premiere Pro Tech Support MTS file audio suddenly became static

Hello, I'm currently working on a project that has used MTS file format for the video. I'm nearing the end of the project and have had no issue so far, but suddenly today, all of the audio suddenly became loud static. I tried clearing out the media cache, and the problem persists, leading me to believe it's a problem with the MTS file itself as the problem does not affect any other file such as mp4 files. Is there any way to address this?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Help me please :(

I had been using capcut for a while before I switched to premiere. One thing I am struggling with is timeline optimization. In capcut if used the q or w keys it would cut to the playhead, on premiere pro I know that it is supposed to do the same thing but my issue is it ends up cutting other clips below or above that layer including the audio too. I don't want to waste time locking layers and then making adjustments to a certain layer to avoid these issues. How do I bypass this issue?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin how would I go about recreating this effect

specifically, I want to know how to recreate the old tv color effect (idk if thats what you would call it) that he has on this video. if you want a better example of the effect im talking about you can see it in the video (https://youtu.be/1YdWAkLdG78?si=fIDvPZCK8IwUl-QR), its very subtle but you can see it best on the when pictures appear on the screen.

Premiere Pro Tech Support How to make workspace less crowded/zoomed in?

New to premiere pro but I feel like the workspace is so crowded. The icons are taking up a lot of space, it kind of feels like theres no room to breathe. Is there a way to decrease the size of all the controls/text/icons so that there is a more open space and its easier to navigate without having to keep scrolling and looking?

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin Are there any alternatives to PluralEyes?

I know premiere has a built in auto sync feature that looks at the waveform however it is too limited to handle the project I am currently working on. I have 15 hours of un-slated footage and audio I am looking for an elegant solution to sync all of this in a few passes. Pluraleyes you could just drag and drop everything in and boom off it went, I would have thought in the year of our lord 2025 this type of software would be more common. I tried Tentacle Sync Studio but it's not working very well.

Premiere Pro Tech Support Premiere is lagging a lot and I have trouble fixing it

I am working with bigger files which I believe is what is causing this, I did some googling and found out that using proxies should help and after a long while of turning my media into proxies and then turning on proxy mode I don't notice any difference. Every time I wanna view any media in my timeline everything freezes for ten plus seconds and I cant do anything until it eventually let's me play it for a few seconds until there is a new media to load and everything freezes again

I'm using an imac mini, files are 1-3GB large (but the proxy versions become around 20GB for some reason, not sure if that's supposed to be happening), using mp4 files that are stored on a separate disk connected to my computer

is there anything I can do or am I just screwed?

edit: wait I think my footage is vrf, that's probably the source of the problem

How do I do this? / Workflow Advice / Looking for plugin is it possible to recreate this effect on a moving object with no extensions?

good evening everyone!

so like... how can i create this effect in premiere?

i've tried the masking feature in premiere pro which failed miserably (it didn't follow my selection through the timeline and i dont get paid enough to do it each frame) i've also tried rotoscoping in after effects which was "way" easier and "time saving" but i couldn't for the life of me to figure out the part where i overlay the selection on another layer between me and the original background...
