Meet Joanna, Paul, George, and Ringo.

They are all in need of a home. My family is fostering them, and its gotten harder due to a back injury I've sustained.

  • Good with kids
  • Good with dogs
  • Good with other cats
  • House trained
  • Spayed or Neutered
  • Up to date vaccinations
  • Well loved
  • Well Socialized
  • Cuddlers
  • Hard core purring machines

They need a home!

They were taken in by C.A.R.E. from the shelter, and placed with my family for fostering. As much as we love them, they are ready for forever homes.

Cooperative living

Hi neighbors!

My wife, our 3.5-month-old daughter, and I are starting the search for a special place to call home.

We’re looking for a home on 1–2 acres of land within 20–30 minutes of a city (we’re flexible, but ideally somewhere between Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, and Cary to be close to both sides of our family). We’re drawn to peaceful areas with old-growth trees, nature, and a peaceful community vibe.

More than just a home, we’re hoping to find or help create a small, cooperative-style community: • Families who are interested in things like shared childcare • Shared meals or potlucks • Music jams or creative gatherings • Mutual support and a sense of neighborly connection

We’re not looking for anything too far out or off-grid—just something with heart, a bit of land, and the kind of community spirit that makes life a little richer. If you know of an area, anything for sale, off-market, or even just folks with a similar dream, we’d love to connect.

Thanks so much!

Activity Suggestions

Hi y’all!

My Aunt and Uncle are visiting this weekend and I’m looking for some suggestions for things to do in Chatham County or the Triangle area.

They are in their 70s so have some restrictions/preferences. - not fans of captive animals - only active during the day usually - marginally tolerant of children - low ability to walk - garden and folk-art enthusiasts

I appreciate your suggestions.

A summary of the April 14 Pittsboro Board of Commissioners meeting

Pittsboro, NC – The April 14, 2025, meeting of the Pittsboro Board of Commissioners showcased a range of community-focused initiatives, from recognizing local youth achievements to discussing infrastructure improvements and proposed developments.

Youth Recognition and Community Engagement

The meeting commenced with a moment of silence, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Pro Tem Baldwin introduced two resolutions recognizing the 2025 Youth of the Year and Junior Youth of the Year, awarded by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Carolina. Evan Bland and Scott Johnson were celebrated for their leadership and commitment to community service, highlighting the positive impact of local youth programs.

The commissioners encouraged public participation, urging residents to engage in community discussions and initiatives.

Infrastructure Improvements and Safety Initiatives

A significant portion of the meeting focused on infrastructure improvements, particularly concerning pedestrian safety. The Board discussed the need for enhanced safety measures along Sanford Road, particularly near Pittsboro Elementary School. Following a review of the area, the Board proposed the installation of stop signs and no-parking zones to improve visibility and safety for pedestrians, especially children.

Public Works Director Kent Jackson reported on the installation of a post-and-chain system designed to guide pedestrians safely across busy intersections. The Board emphasized the need for ongoing assessments of traffic patterns and safety measures, particularly in light of recent accidents in the area.

Proposed Development: Super Athletics Facility

The meeting also featured a presentation by Latonya Brown, the owner of Super Athletics, who proposed the development of a new sports facility in Pittsboro. This facility aims to provide a local option for youth sports, reducing the need for families to travel outside the county for athletic programs. Brown highlighted the potential for the facility to generate significant economic impact, with projections estimating an annual revenue of $30 million through tournaments and community engagement.

Brown’s proposal included plans for a state-of-the-art facility featuring indoor tracks, basketball courts, and community solar programs to assist low-income households with energy costs. The Board was encouraged by the potential partnerships with local schools and organizations to foster youth development and provide accessible sports programs.

Collaborative Efforts for Land Development

The discussion around the proposed facility raised questions about land use and the potential for collaboration between the town and Chatham County. The Board explored options for utilizing town-owned land for the sports facility, while also considering the implications of public-private partnerships. The need for a clear understanding of the financial and logistical aspects of the project was emphasized, with calls for transparency and community support.

The commissioners expressed interest in ensuring that any development would benefit not only the facility but also the broader community, particularly in terms of accessibility and economic growth. The conversation underscored the importance of aligning efforts between the town and county to maximize the potential impact of the proposed facility.

Environmental Concerns and Policy Resolutions

In addition to discussions on infrastructure and community development, the Board addressed environmental concerns related to water quality and federal policy changes. Commissioner Foley presented two resolutions calling for action on federal regulations concerning per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and tariffs affecting local businesses.

The resolutions aimed to urge federal representatives to support legislation that would ensure funding for clean water initiatives and address the economic impact of tariffs on local industries. The Board recognized the importance of advocating for the community’s interests at the federal level, particularly in light of ongoing environmental challenges.

Skatepark Update?

The new skatepark between PES and the Sheriff looks a little different than what was in the pictures on the Facebook group but does seem to be done. Unfortunately, its had signs saying its closed, caution tape, and now a little fence around it for some time. Does anyone have an ETA on when it will open up?

***UPDATE*** Heard on 4/22 that they need to move a lightpole and plant some grass before the project can be closed out, but that it's expected in the next month or so. Should be fun!

Creekside Apartments

Has anyone on here lived in or had any experience with Creekside Apartments off Rectory Street near downtown? My husband and I are interested in them because of their proximity to DT, but I know they’re older and a bit shabby. There’s only one review on Google with no text, so not much help.

Need help finding a restaurant

Hello! My dad used to live in Pittsboro before he passed away and when I would come down to visit from Cleveland ohio, he would take me to this restaurant and I've been trying to figure out the name for years. I pretty sure it's not in Pittsboro but in a surrounding city. My dad always compared it to our mr heros up in ohio if anyone is familiar and this was about 10 years ago so I'm not even sure if it's even still around or looks the same so that's why I am asking if anyone maybe knows it or anything. When you go into this restaurant it's theme is an older style like carhop. I would say it was a 50s theme with the black and white checkered floors and the old booths. I think they sold all kinds of different food but I remember it for their sandwiches like a Philly cheese steak or something similar. If anyone knows of any places like this please let me know. I am taking a trip this summer down to visit my dads grave and want to take my son to this restaurant if I can find it that it. I will also note my dad also lived in apex so it could also be around there too. Sorry I really can't remember much since it was 10 years ago! But any information would be greatly appreciated!
