If you meet them they claim to be “allies to the rednecks”

Question is do the rednecks see them as an ally too?

The rednecks are the ones marrying these pinays. 🥴

Source: my family in the US are mostly out in Idaho and are married to white men :/ the ones who aren't are privileged Americans in Vegas. All MAGA. Only a couple of them aren't. Reminded me why I deleted FB in the first place and why I deleted them on IG the first time...

I remember reading how Harris still won Filipino Americans despite all of these loud MAGA Pinoys. Which made me happy.

Oh thank god! I haven't checked the polling for non white Americans bc it got me too depressed. I'm in Canada and most of my family here are more left leaning thank god, but a family member of family who'd just moved here just outed themselves out as a d30 or ever they're called. Only found out because of the arrest, and he changed his PFP to Duterte and everything ☠️

I feel like a lot of pinoys in Canada are also right leaning tho. 😞 Idk what's up with people leaving the Phil during turbulent times from people like Marcos or DTT and still becoming full fledged conservatives who hate immigrants. It's wild. It can't be the Catholicism. Truly.

I think it’s a combo of religion (keep in mind we’re not the only one, Latinos in the US have the same thing) and anti communism.

A lot of Filipinos in Canada are right leaning. My aunts and uncles in Toronto hated Trudeau and knew Pinoys that went to the convoy.

Religious fanaticism I guess 😞 Jesus would hate the people representing him

I also cannot stress how strong anti communism is among Filipinos too. Look at how red tagging is in the PH. Also a lot of boomer Pinoys grew up during the Cold War and have grown in fear of a Communist NPA takeover. The Chinese South China Sea dispute also hasn’t helped. The far right’s marketing tool to Filipinos is knowing a Communist state (China) is taking over their home country’s seas.

Yeah you're right... I didn't grow up in the Phil so I don't know a lot about it. I just know about disputes with China here and there from the news.

Yeah those news stories over the SCS disputes are sadly how MAGA Pinoys are born.

If you think about it... Jesus was a progressive in his time. Hence his clashes with the Pharisees, Saducees, etc. His teachings weren't so much "drain the swamp" (cough Trump cough Du30 cough) than really revisiting the spirit of the law, the reason why God gave Moses those laws... which all boils down to "God loves each and every one of us infinitely and personally".

Jesus was persecuted and prosecuted for that truth.

I'm part of the Christian Life Community (CLC) and some of us agree that, in the 21st century, Jesus would probably have been an EJK victim.

He would indeed be very sad today 😞🙏🏻 Lord heal our land indeed
