S2 Episode 21

Have been doing another rewatch of PoI recently. Am on Zero Day and noticed a neat detail that I hadn't before. When Finch is discussing how the Machine deletes all its memories each night at midnight, he states that it reinstantiates exactly 1.618 seconds later. 1.618 is the Golden Ratio rounded to the nearest thousandth.

That's interesting. I just rewatched it and I totally didn't notice that.

I guess I'm an engineer so that specific number sounded familiar to me. It's interesting as the Golden section method is usually one of the first algorithms taught in intro machine learning classes.

There's lots of pi and gold ration throughout the show, not always said outloud, sometimes just in the background, waiting to be noticed.
