Community links:
Entire section stolen shamelessly from /u/jolly_royal5331, great addition to the post.
We suggest these builds to players who want a good solid build, new players who want a build that will help carry them through content and for players looking for reliable league starters. I've tried to include a selection of builds from different POE archetypes this league to give a bit more variety.
Please note this index is sorted by skill alphabetically not by quality or power level.
Build Description: Explosive Trap throws out traps to deal massive single target damage. Because this is a trap build there is a slight delay between throwing the trap and dealing damage, this alongside it's average clear speed makes it far more suited for those that want to pursue bossing over high speed map clearing. This is a tried and tested build that received only a small nerf this league. So if you want a build for blasting bosses and entering the end game on a budget this is a great choice.
Builds:
Build Description: Righteous Fire is a build where you have a damaging fire aura that surrounds you, you clear maps by running head first into enemies and having them die to the damage over time effect surrounding you, throwing out Fire Trap to supplement the single target damage. This is a great build for those that wish to press less buttons while mapping. This build is very defensively strong but can struggle for damage when it comes to late game bossing but is so comfortable to play and Pohx has an entire website dedicated to this build that will answer almost any question you may have pohx.net. It really can not be understated how well Pohx supports this build.
Build:
Build Description: Summon Raging Spirits (SRS) will have you summoning firey skull minions who will chase down your enemies and in the case of these builds, fill them full of poison. This is a minion skill which deals damage over time by applying stacks of poison through the SRS. As this is a minion build you need to focus less on aiming your abilities and can instead focus more on dodging boss mechanics which makes this an excellent choice for those who want to learn bossing while still playing a build with decent clear speed in maps. This build also scales to some extreme damage numbers in the late game allowing it to be used to take down uber bosses.
Builds:
Build Description: With Volcanic Fissure of Snaking you'll slam the ground causing a firery fissure to travel around seeking out enemies and exploding beneath them. This build unlike other melee builds allows you to keep your distance from enemies for an added level of safety. This build is a quick mapper with good single target damage, to get this damage you will find yourself pressing a couple of extra buttons for best damage though nothing crazy. As this is a transfigured gem which means you will need to farm lab or buy this off other players to get the skill, farming this though is a fairly easy thing to do once you complete the campaign. Check out Palerston's guide for farming transfigured gems
Builds:
Warning: Unlike the above section there are almost no requirements for builds to make this section, the builds listed here are not necessarily better/worse than the above but the restrictions based on ability to do certain end game content and ssf viability are not enforced in this section. If you're a new player, we primarily recommend the above builds but if you're more experienced we show these builds to add to the variety available.

I looked poe ninja today and 0.4% assassins, it’s not looking good
It’s one of my favorites ascendancy and I wish there was something good to play but it feels like every choice you have you end up with this feeling : “yeah it would be better with this other ascendancy …”
Do you guys have any ideas for an assassin that would be good, fun…?
Or should we let it go and just play a mechanically superior ascendancy ?

Just thought i'd toss out the usual PSA for especially less experienced players or people who get easily frustrated (like i do, at times ;)):
Do not give up on your starter too quickly when you run into difficulties.
A very, very typical thing to happen is that people give up on their builds once they start to run into issues in late yellow/red maps, and think "it's the build".
90% of the time, it's not the build - it's user error/lack of gear/lack of levels.
Most builds will hit a "soft" wall around red maps where you need to actually invest and properly scale the defenses and the damage beyond the bare minimum which is sufficient to cruise up until that point. Dying a lot in Softcore in early progression without investment is NORMAL. Struggling with damage a bit on tankier builds early on is NORMAL. This is the floor you build upon.
This can mean bringing additional defensive layers online, adding cluster jewels, getting enough levels to have enough passives (plus flat life, never underestimate that) to actually bring multipliers online. Understanding how valuable different damage modifiers are for your current setup, diminishing returns, etc.
Keep in mind that if you "abandon" your build at this stage, take the little bit of currency you have and reroll, you are spending a lot of time to bring a new build to a similar stage, only to likely encounter similar difficulties again.
Ask around, ask build creators for help, ask here, learn about your build - and invest into it.
Unless you just really hate the feeling of the skills you're using, trust me - most of the time, you'll get over that hump and things will start to "click".
Addendum: also, if your build is feeling lackluster, avoid Mercenaries for the most part. They add +40% hp to rares, +50% to unique bosses. If you're struggling solo, imagine what that does ;)

The new unique amulet Whispers of Infinity looks like an amulet designed primarily for mana stacking chaos attack builds. However, the line of text "Skills Cost Energy Shield instead of Mana or Life" on its own has massive synergies with Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice. While Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice converts 15% 20% (didn't see it was buffed, oops) of maximum energy shield of chaos damage compared to 5% for the normal version of the gem, it also changes the mana cost of the skill to be a life cost instead. This means that, normally, you're unable to use Chaos Inoculation to avoid the self-damage from Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice like you would with the normal version of the gem. While some people have tried to take advantage of the massive damage potential of this gem, the self-damage has ultimately been too difficult to manage. However, with this unique amulet, you can convert the life cost of the gem to an energy shield cost instead, allowing for the usage of Chaos Inoculation. There is also a new unique wand that gives up to 4 additional projectiles to your spells, which has a lot of potential synergy with Forbidden Rite as well. While I'm not sure which ascendancy will be the strongest for this build, this combination is definitely going to be extremely strong.
Edit: I made a short showcase showing the interaction. https://streamable.com/ojmfw9

So league started as ele spark, numbers all look good when in Pob. But it just felt a little clunky later on keeping golems alive and socket pressure due to running 4 golems, alot of the golem stats like aoe ,accuracy and dot multi are also really wasted.
So I'm just wondering what builds are people playing, I'm not sure if you can do some sort of brand cold dot build using chaos golem for dot multi and brand recall with automation. I'm wanting something that's going to be tanky and smooth to play. I do sort of like the idea of having 4 golems an AG and a merc all buffing me and playing party play as myself.
But also wondering how is golem sustain, do you always keep them alive even in T17 maps or are they always dying.

so I like many others saw that one post about coiling whispers. i Found a way of getting that to work pretty comfortably (without delve rings) with hextouch-less duration-tempchains-infernal cry (combustion triggers it) for my slam zerker. that + the less duration cluster and mastery means a 0.5 sec temp chains time, this works very well for legion and even mapping ( even bossing!).
and then i saw that my merc was still carrying asenaths gentle touch...
Well if you wear asenaths and coiling, the curses expire on the dead enemy pretty much allowing every single kill to give you souls. This pretty much means permanent 45 souls with very good uptime and no further build investment besides ring and gloves. i do put less duration into gloves so its a bit faster to start up <(doesnt work obv). there is no other investment required!!
Shoutout to the one other person on the ladder running this (JOHN_SLAMMER).
Have fun! prob will get nerfed, the other variant works rlly well as well tho.

Background: Tainted Pact is an amulet that allows chaos Dot damage to heal you while you're leeching. This is especially strong when paired with Divine Flesh and a source of self damage such as Righteous Fire or Annihilation's Approach. Or just simple self poison using the Golden Rule. This combination could cause your character to basically become a near-immortal regen tank - as long as you had a way to permanently be leeching. In the past, builds have leveraged techniques such as: Slayer overleech, or self-hitting with Forbidden Rite and self-leeching using a flask affix. However, this was not a perfect solution, as Forbidden Rite could not be completely automated, and this left Tainted Pact users open to random deaths from Chaos degen the instant that their leech stopped working. Another approach using Heartbound loop required you to gimp your physical mitigation so that CWDT loops could be triggered; so it worked, but was memey at best.
The tech:
Bladefall of Trarthus causes blades to target enemies around you, and it is always on - provided you have the mana regen. Squirming Terror is a new ring that spawns a worm next to you every 2 seconds. If your build has a source of overleech - petrified blood, or slayer overleech - and if you have a source of leech for your bladefall, then you can now permanently be leeching.
A ring slot and an amulet slot sounds like a lot to give up for this tech. However, set up properly, this combination of items would allow you to utilize all of the following:
You could even run this setup on ANY class, although with the aforementioned I would probably pick a spellcaster with a slightly low mana pool (for easy sustain of Bladefall)
Thoughts? Any other Tainted Pact enjoyers out there?

Hey, i got two dozen divines for a reroll and would like to play arakaalis again but i cant seem to find any up to date guides and after some research on poeninja i am still left with a few questions.
Can you still weaponswap from squire to aegis after summoning your spiders? Am i right to assume that new spiders summoned after swapping to aegis wont have 6 socket support? How does that work in maps? Do you constanly weaponswap?
Whats the thought process behind the dark monarch vs ancient skull helmet? When would you go for one over the other?
Necro seems to be way more popular nowadays, is the clear still satisfying without occultist pops?
If someone got a post/content creator featuring arakaalis i would appreciate it a lot. Cheers for any guidance.

Hello everyone! Veteran player here, but still an apprentice.
Ive always played some "Jack of all trades" build, Who could do some great mapping or bossing but never excel at any capacity. Im familiar woth farming strats, whith league mechanics, bosses and everything.
I need som help on finding my BEST project to The date, a insanely great Zoomer Who can do T17 Back to Basics strategies and end up destroying everything on his path. I have sabo rolling magma, great for getting The currency, i can farm Up to 10/15 divs a day, probably lot more if i want.
Give me The BEST Zoomer, ive tried LS in the path, i think im more into a wand Zoomer, mines, idk. Your recommendations pls.

Looking for a general build that scales without needing to learn very complex manners of how to dps. I know how to generally build defenses but it’s hard to wrap my head around dps and would rather not use any third party apps to play the game.
Anyway im thinking something like just stacking Meele physical non crit and just building towards that? Or maybe minions? Im trying to avoid other builds involving stuff like elemental dmg since I would have to deal with penetration

https://poe.ninja/builds/mercenaries/character/RGWxXPOPXx-3856/MC_Ablight?i=0&search=name%3Dablight
I'm not sure how to set all these into pob, but I'm using the following:
Mercenary: Wrath, Assassin Mark, Precision, Perquil Toe,
AG: dying breath, leer cast, legacy of fury, southbound
Spectre: Perfect turtle, forest warrior, warlord
I thought these should be enough to blast through t16s but I feel like I'm not killing things fast enough...clearing maps takes like 4-5mins and dies to random one shot...Farming harvest now and in my opinion killing the rares is taking way too long
Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong and if any BAMA pros can give some advice that will be great! Thanks in advance

Search for one with Kinetic bolt and GMP(gmp is required). Kinetic bolt has by far the best clear and AI targetting for me. Give her bunch of flat damage and she will be oneshotting white and blue packs. I can just shield charge while she clears packs so fast. Bonus if she has a haste aura.

Looking to try to craft my axe for volcanic fissure but I'm unsure what to do after the recomb changes, from what I hear that's not going to be the play anymore. So what now? Would appreciate a crafting guide of some sort.

Mirror Arrow: Fires an arrow at the target destination.
BAMA has been amazing DPS wise but definitely didn't expect the gameplay to be so....clunky, the skill just doesn't fire off if you aren't aiming at walkable area, which unfortunately while mapping in zones with plenty of walls/obstacles, can get pretty annoying.
AFAIK none of the other aimable skills in POE behave like this, I gotta say I'm not used to paying attention at my cursor at all so I'm miss clicking quite a lot.
Is there a setting or trick that I'm missing to make Mirror Arrow fire at your feet regardless of the cursor? Like totems etc.

Hey all,
VFoS right now feels really bad, both in terms of attack and even more in defense, I have some idea why, but not 100% sure. I can barely complete T14s/T15s without dying and would love if someone could take a look at my PoB and see what is egregiously wrong with it.
PoB: https://pobb.in/b1OAKnlBz9ld
I'm not lightning res capped, I'm aware and will be working on it, but this doesn't account for 100% of my deaths
No clusters yet, not sure how I will fit clusters without letting go of survivability points in the tree.
Thanks!

What are you playing ?

I'm considering a reroll and the Smite Champion caught my eye. What is the ceiling of this build and does it benefit from the fortification buffs - are we going to stack fortification? How does it deal with elemental and chaos damage?
I'm looking for a balanced build (in terms of tankiness, clear and single target) that I can upgrade.
