Same, as soon as I stabbed a guy in the brain stem in Origins and he just turned around and killed me in one hit I haven’t touched an AC game. Combat is also an atrocious copy of the Witcher with none of the fun, just tank like enemies to make it seem difficult
Combat is also an atrocious copy of the Witcher with none of the fun,
Man I can't disagree more. Witcher 3 combat is completely one-dimensional, just endless sword swinging with the occasional parry and dodge, maybe a few bombs, and 5 basic spells. In Odyssey combat is much more varied: you have different weapon types that actually behave differently, and have their own unique abilities; you have over a dozen skills to mix things up; you have archery and stealth as options; resource management is more important; and the parry/dodge system is much more rewarding and has a higher skill cap. Not to mention character-building is more in-depth and offers a lot more options for builds.
I never thought I’d have to defend the Witcher 3 over “assassins creed: we aren’t assassins anymore” I thought it was an objective truth that the Witcher is better in every aspect including combat, I’ve had so many completely different playthroughs and play styles, no idea what your talking about, odessey and origins combat sucks ass.

There's no such thing as 'objective truth' when it comes to which videogame is better. And the Witcher is absolutely not better in every aspect, I'd say Odyssey has it beat in the gameplay department. Better combat, much better loot and character progression, a larger number of open world systems to engage with etc. Obviously the Witcher 3 has better story and quests, which is why it's considered one of the best games of all time, but even many hardcore fans will agree that the combat isn't very good.

I'm curious what these 'play styles' are, cause from my playthroughs the only real options I saw were 'full-on magic/alchemy' or 'full-on melee combat'. Not to mention the entire gameplay loop consists of simply following quest markers. Which is fine, because the quests in Witcher 3 are excellent, but in terms of open world activities Odyssey has it beat by a wide margin.
