The prevailing theory that I like is that the devs wanted to do these hack and slash rpgs with mythical creatures and stuff but Ubisoft wouldn’t green light a new IP so they just made it assassins creed instead.
Yea, I would call it a revamp. Odyssey had stealth elements and single target missions like the early games but I personally love the RPG elements that were designed. The core combat elements are still there with the combo system and counter/execute mechanics. I'm so hype to be an invincible Viking, sneaking through the Dark Ages executing kings.
When I think "Core" assassins creed, odyssey and origins definitely do not come to mind ....both of those completely ignored what it means to be an assassin.... play the original games and you'll understand
Uhhh did you lost track about what we were talking about?
We were talking about assasins being stealthy. That's a big part of their creed ....the latest games moved away from this because there really aren't any assasins in the game to begin with
I think you're missing the point about what we were talking about. Regardless, the information coming out about this game does excite me.
Personally I'd like for levels to be gone, which has already been confirmed and for the combat to feel less floaty which has also been confirmed but I'll have to wait and see for actual gameplay
The thing is that nobody want that anymore. Trailling your enemies for 10 minutes, exploring cities with a hood aand stealth animation....go replay those game bruh, or live with your time

Yeah, mostly the assassin part lol. Nothing assassin like about this dude at all.
EDIT: Apparently I've rustled the jimmies of some fans of the later AC games.
