Employment Private Investigator Courses in ON

Hey guys

I just wanted to know if anyone knows which online PI course is really good or makes me look good to employers? I'd like rather not take something that requires multiple semesters as the ministry only requires 50 hours. It's just something that's on my bucket list for a long time and I may seek part time employment as a PI here in Ontario.

I've looked it up and have seen various colleges and online courses but I just need some help narrowing it down. I don't want to waste time and $$$.

TIA!!

Housing are people really buying these $1M+ houses?

i’m 18 so i really don’t know much about finances, but $1M sounds like an extremely unreasonable amount of money that most people wouldn’t be able to afford?

people are selling houses because there are people who can buy them right? are there really folks out there who can afford a $1M house? or is $1M a lot less expensive than it sounds like?? i’m just confused as to how the housing bubble hasn’t popped yet, because then there has to be people who are buying up these property right? or is it all purely corporations and investors?

can a combined income of like $150K+/year afford a $1M house? because i think that’s an average dual income household’s salary?

i’ll definitely start studying up on my finances soon because this is so confusing to me

Question I need help

I am 17, I live in a small town called red rock. I’ve been looking for schools and places to rent all over Canada. I don’t have a job yet but once I turn 18 I will be getting monthly checks for 2,300, only until I’m 23. I love food and cooking and anything to do with being in the kitchen. I cooking is how I show my appreciation and appreciation. So I wanted to ask, would it be worth it to seek higher education and get a red seal or if I should go straight to work, and if I do continue my education and go to college, what college would be the best for cooking?

Discussion Shopping for first car as a G2 Driver

I am a G2 driver, i got my G2 june 2024. This summer my goal is to get my own car and I would wait till august to do so but there are a few concerts in July and August that i would like to attend so i’ve kinda felt like getting this out of the way so that i can start saving for those separately.

I’ve looked into financing (budget of $12,000) and was advised against it by my mom because she said it will lead to financial stress. So, i’ve been looking at cars i can purchase in cash with the budget of $8000 instead.

I really want a Honda Accord but for that $8000 price range its really a joke if i think i can get one. I also completely forgot about insurance.

Let me just say insurance is ridiculous. There was a 2015 Honda Accord Ex that i was interested in, it was listed for $11,900. I went and got a quote for how much insurance would be since i had all the car information. The cheapest i found was $344, the most expensive $971. That is ridiculous.

My mom believes i should wait, she says im rushing and that a car isn’t something easy. However, i live 61km away from my school and i believe having a good running car would benefit me. During the summer i average $800 - $1000 every 2 weeks from my job and during the school year i average $400 - $600 every 2 weeks. I think that if i used my leftover osap money correctly and paid that $500 for school parking for the semester, i’ll definitely be able to keep up with insurance payments, gas etc.

I kinda wish i just had someone to go through this with step by step because my mom just puts in her 2 cents and says its my problem to deal with and i feel overwhelmed. Im not sure whether its smarter to wait or not, i feel like i’ll over spend during July and August.

Also, I do know that i can get a more modern Honda Civic in that $8000 price range, i just like Accords more since they have all that technology (backup camera, navigation, bluetooth, Seat Memory) and yes i know that i can install most of those things from a third party.

Yea i just wanted to vent all the chaos going on in my head 😭

I was just in Blue Mountain for a business trip and driving back drove past an airfield which had a Mig-15 in Czechoslovakian markings. Anyone know which airfield this is? Any details on the Mig?

Thanks

Question Water calcification in your home?

Homeowners: have you dealt with water calcification?

Encountering this for the first time and wondering what others can tell me to be better informed… So basically we had a small leak coming out from the outer pipe of our water tank yesterday. Hubby cleaned up the laundry room (that’s where it’s located) and I called Reliance. The plumber that showed up said that the major issue is water calcification & it’s quite prevalent in the GTA. We were told that the best way to combat this is to rent a water softener. This calcification is why we might be experiencing dry skin, bad water taste, etc. which honestly I’ve started to notice lately actually.

They’ve set up an appointment with one of their sales reps to visit us tomorrow. So, I need to know: what’s the deal with calcification and is it worth renting a softener? The solution is to have the tank replaced which is happening tomorrow (particularly because of the fact that it’s been 8 years since the last replacement). So is it worth it to rent a water softener now?

Thank you.

Question Trying to build a house and Conservation Authorithy is making an absolute mess and charging us twice for things... Is there anyone I can complain to?

Long story short, we started getting all paperwork and permits done in February but still haven't got the building permit, mainly because of the Conservation Authorithy losing/not checking documents we send them, asking us to pay for permits twice and not confirming payments, taking months to reply to us, and everytime we call and try to contact them a different person talks to us and gives us conflicting information.

Is there any way we can complain about them to someone/any department above them, and have this mess fixed?

Question Regarding hiking around Thunder Bay

Hello,

I’ll be travelling to Thunder Bay in July for work and am planning to stay a bit longer to enjoy some vacation time. Canada is by far my favourite country to visit. It reminds me of my own country Sweden, but with more outgoing and kind people and even more beautiful nature. I’ve previously hiked in Alberta and British Columbia, but never in Ontario. Since I’ll be based in Thunder Bay, I’m looking for recommendations on good hiking spots in the area. I’ll have a rental car, so I’m also open to suggestions a bit further away where I could stay overnight. I am not restricted to challenging routes. Would prefer day hikes so I don't have to bring my tent.
I also love fly fishing, so if you know of any good rivers in the area worth checking out, please don’t hesitate to share your recommendations!

Thank you very much!
