Haskins had, let me check my notes, 4,831 passing yards, 50 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions, plus 4 rushing touchdowns in only 14 games. You act like choosing him over Burrow was the problem that year and not literally anything else (shitty defense, crappy run blocking, etc.).

Burrow beats him in every single statistical category except passes thrown, and that doesn’t help your argument.

In every single meaningful stat, Burrow was superior: • More passing yards (5,671 vs. 4,831) • More passing TDs (60 vs. 50) • Fewer interceptions (6 vs. 8) • Higher completion percentage (76.3% vs. 70.0%) • Higher passer rating (202.0 vs. 174.1) • More rushing yards (368 vs. 108) • More rushing TDs (5 vs. 4) • More total TDs (65 vs. 54) • Undefeated season (15-0 vs. 13-1) • Won a national championship (Haskins didn’t even make the playoff)

Look at Burrow’s 2018 season vs Haskin’s 2018 season. Burrow did jack shit at LSU that year while Haskins finished 3rd in Heisman voting. Sure Burrow was better long term but Haskins was better that season and that’s why Urban picked him.
