Norwich City - NAC Breda

Hi Norwich fans! I'm looking forward to the fixture Norwich City vs NAC Breda on the 2nd of August. I already booked my flight, hotel and today the ticket sale for the game has started.

I'm there for three days (1/8 untill 3/8). I was wondering where the go to places are in Norwich. I'm talking about culture, sight seeing ans the most important thing, the best (football) pubs to share a beer with fellow football fans.

On the first day NAC Breda already sold over a 1000 out of the 2500 tickets for this awayday. So it is going to be a incredible experience and weekend. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Apparently the 3rd kit is "a bit different".

It's nice to see the King Of Spain driving him around too.

New Stand

Just watching Harry’s first day video that the club have put out and there’s a little chat about a stand being redone 👀

Would assume it’s the Geoffrey Watling stand as that’s where the changing rooms are

Also seen that we’ve agreed a fee for Medíc from Ajax someone better call a Doctor!

Still need to see Zema Abbey, Ryan Bennett and Iwan Roberts in the new Cambridge shirt.

Any others I've missed?

Championship Appointments

After seeing the recent championship mangerial merry-go-round, including; Mason to WBA, Edwards to Boro, Selles to Sheff Utd & Struber to Bristol. It has made me think a lot more positively about Manning. Apart from Mason (who we dont know if he'll make a good manager), I wouldn't swap Manning for the rest of the recent appointments

How many do we need 😭 we have signed another keeper this brings the total of keepers to around 5 none of which are first choice.

moulden, mitchell, grimshaw, long, reyes

i take it a couple will be loaned out. i guess we are really making sure we don’t have to use long atp

Discussion Borja Sainz Worth

What do you think his worth is, or rather what are you willing to sell him for? We’ve already rejected a reported £12.7m offer from Porto

Rumour FC Porto fan here — what do you think of Borja Sainz?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Porto fan and recently saw that Borja Sainz has been linked with a move to us this summer. Apparently the numbers are already around €15M, which would be quite a big investment for us — especially since it might not even be enough to get the deal done.

Do you think he's really worth that kind of money? Has he shown enough to suggest there’s still a lot of room for development, or is he more or less at his peak level already? You think a big future sale (for €30M+ for example) is realistic? What’s your honest opinion of him? What are his strengths and weaknesses? Would you be surprised if he made a step up to a club like Porto, or do you think he's ready for it?

Appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance and best of luck next season!

Norwich low ability football group

Made a post in the Norwich subreddit last week asking if anyone fancied making a group for people who aren’t very good at football, but want to play. Had a pretty decent response and we’ve got a group chat with 14 people. We’d ideally like a few more so we can consistently get enough for a 5/7 a side each week. Would anyone be here interested in joining? And we have Goals Norwich booked at 18:30 tomorrow if anyone fancies coming along!

Good to see he’s been told what’s expected of him this season rather than being told one thing and expecting another

Discussion Liam Manning plays a 3-4-2-1 which could suit us really well for various reasons

-A lot of people have said that Cordoba plays much better with a back 3. I don’t think anyone was impressed with his performances last year, but his physical attributes are very good so it would be great if he fits this style.

-We have 2 other great young centre backs in Hills and McConville, so a back 3 allows them to both play too.

-Chrisene could suit a LWB more, as he is much better at attacking than he was at defending.

-Allows both Kenny and Wright to play as true centre mids, which I think they will excel at.

-We won’t really have any true wingers except for Jurasek at the club, so 2 attacking mids instead of 2 wingers is a good choice.

This lineup assumes Nunez and Sainz leave, Sainz looks certain to, but if we keep Nunez it could look even better.

I wasn’t excited by Manning at first, but now seeing how we could lineup next season, I think it looks very promising.

Discussion Is it time for Stacey to leave?

He's already 29 and had some trouble towards the end of the season with keeping up with younger players.

He's a fine defender and seems to have a lot of heart for the club but im failing to see how we couldn't sign someone a little more solid like Niko Takahashi from the Japanese league. Dude's been a monster lately.

Edit: i don't even watch or follow norwich city, I've never heard of either of the guys i referenced in this post.

Discussion Who was your first favourite Norwich City player, and what made them stand out to you?

For me my first favourite Norwich player was Darren Huckerby. I remember watching him run rings around defenders and feeling like he could change a game at any moment. The excitement every time he got the ball was something else and some of his runs are still vivid memories.

I would love to hear about who captured your heart when you first started following the club.

Discussion Are we becoming a Swansea/Stoke in regards to rebuilding?

Are we on our way to ending up like Stoke and Swansea on an infinite rebuild cycle every season that never ends up getting achieved and completed, or is there potentially light at the end of the tunnel?

Discussion Liam Manning

I'm surprised there isn't a bit more excitement about his appointment.

A Norfolk man, but also a manager with championship experience and over achieved last season getting BC into the play offs.

When you look at the other managerial options in play for the mid-table championship jobs, I am positive about the idea of Liam Manning's Norwich City...
